Vintage Bookmark

Hello! I hope you've had a lovely week and are looking forward to the weekend! I love that Friday feeling when you get home from school and can just chill out! Thank you for all your lovely comments about going back to school! I've had a really nice first two weeks back, and my little brother has really enjoyed his first couple of weeks of year seven and seems to be settling in well.

I made this bookmark for my mum, as she is in the middle of reading the Harry Potter books for the first time at the moment, so I thought I'd make her a vintage bookmark to use.

I've had this cute little Penny Black image for ages and have never used it before, but I think it's perfect for gift boxes and bookmarks because of its size.

Materials:

Image: Penny Black

Papers: Prima - Annalee

Cardstock: Crafters Companion

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Fibres, Flowers, Spacers & Gems: From My Stash

Ruffled Ribbon: From Chris

Vintage Stamps: Tim Holtz

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Paint: Tim Holtz Acrylic Dabber

Brads: PaperMania

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

- Allsorts Challenge - Flowers & Swirls

- Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes

- Cupcake Craft Challenges - Back To School

- Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

I'm just off to make a card for a great challenge I've just spotted - will be back soon hopefully with a card, and then you'll see which challenge I mean!

I know it's only September, but I feel all cosy, because it's just started raining outside and we're having a roast dinner for tea, yum - my favourite tea! :)

Anyway, thanks for looking and have a great weekend, whatever you're doing!

Bye for now, love, Georgia xx

Spring Card & An Award

Hi everyone, hope you're having a nice weekend!
I'm so glad I don't have to go to school tomorrow, now that it's half-term! Today, we went to see the new Narnia film at the cinema, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which was brilliant! I love the Narnia films, but this one was even better than I expected!

I made this card to fit in with a few challenges, seeing as I couldn't find any for my last card. I'm entering it into the following challenges:
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Love
The ABC Challenge - 'O' is for Old Fashioned (Vintage, distessing etc).
Charisma Cardz - Spring
Allsorts Challenge - Inspired By Nature
Cute Card Thursday - Shiny

You might recognise this image, I think it is Penny Black but I'm not sure. Before, the rabbit was holding a big bunch of flowers and leaves with a little mouse holding onto it, but I ended up cutting it down a bit after I'd coloured it, because it just looked strange against the background!

Materials:
Image: Penny Black (I think!)
Sentiment: Hero Arts
Papers: Basic Grey - Porcelain
Jute Ribbon: Bunny-Zoe's Crafts
Beaded Ribbon: From My Stash
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz
Flowers: From My Stash
Pearls: Martha Stewart
Scalloped Circle: Nestabilities
Cardstock: Bazzil
Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

I had another go at using my mum's Poly pencils and I really love them, tee hee! I've definitely got the bug for them now and they're much easier to use than I thought they would be!
Anyway, better go now. I've got lots of work to do over the holidays, as I have a couple of exams and assessments coming up when I go back to school.

Before I go, Fiona, Rachel and Caroline have given me this lovely award and I just wanted to pass it on. Thanks so much for the award!

'You have been TAGGED and want to participate? Then create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the persons link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged
Dear bloggers:The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, probably more known than mine but I just want to share their gorgeeous cards if you haven't already visited them! So I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers. This is the hard part passing it on as ALL you fellow crafting bloggers deserve this award but rules is rules & I am passing this onto...'

Pink Lemonade Card

Hello! I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment with making cards! My mojo has definitely come back, so I'm grabbing the opportunity and making as many cards as I can, especially as I've got more time than I usually would, because it's the summer holidays.
First of all, thank you so much for the lovely comments you left on my last card, I really appreciate it! Also, thanks so much for the lovely comments you left on Kane's card as well, I read them all out to him and he was so pleased! I don't think he'll be taking up cardmaking as a regular thing though, too much like hard work, I'm guessing!

Anyway, at Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week, the theme is 'Feeling Fruity', so I used these lovely Basic Grey, Nook & Pantry papers and coloured the image so it looks like pink lemonade, and then printed out a matching sentiment off the computer.

I am also entering Kaboodle Doodles Challenge, as the theme over there is 'Add A Little Metal', and I have used a couple of metal spacers on my card.

Materials:
Image: Penny Black
Papers: Basic Grey - Nook & Pantry
Sentiment: Printed Off The Computer
Flowers: From My Stash
Leaf Punch: Woodware
Colouring: Pro Markers
Glossy Accents: Anita's
Stitching Stamp: Borrowed From My Mum
Pearls & Spacers: From My Stash
I also used glossy accents on the drink on the image, which I've never used before, but I'm really pleased with how it looks!
It is my great-grandma's 91st birthday in a few days, so I should be back soon, hopefully, with something I have made for her.
Thanks again for your lovely comments for me and Kane and thanks so much for looking, have a lovely week! :)

Stamp Somethings Challenge

Hi everyone, happy Saturday! :)
I had a great time yesterday spending my birthday money and vouchers with my friend Megan. I bought loads of new clothes, hair things and DVDs and I'm so pleased with everything I got. We even managed to find time to treat ourselves to a tuna jacket potato and chocolate fudge cake, mmm!

This is the card I gave my mum for her birthday on Wednesday - she turned the big four-o and we're having a party tomorrow!
I am also entering this week's Stamp Something Challenge, where the theme is 'distressed somethings'.

Materials:
Image: Penny Black
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: MME
Colouring: Pro Markers
Glitter: Stickles
Flowers: From my Stash
Other Embellishments: From my Stash
Thanks for looking - I'm just in the middle of watching the original 1971 Willy Wonka film, you can't beat the classic, lol!
Bye for now!
Hugs, Georgia xx

Cupcake Craft Challenges 81

Hi there! Hooray, it's Friday! And I'm so excited because tomorrow I'm going to have my hair coloured as a birthday treat and then I'm having some friends round for a little movie party in the evening and then on Sunday we're going out for a curry for my birthday - I can't wait! :)

I'm having a major cardmaking session tonight with my little brother because we're both making birthday and Mother's Day cards for my mum, as it's her fortieth on Wednesday - she doesn't look a day over twenty-one, hee hee! :D

I've made this card for this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge , where the theme is Flower Power. So I've used flowery papers and lots of flowers on my card.

The image is Penny Black, the sentiment is Studio G, the papers are K&Co., the flowers are from my stash, the colouring was done with Pro Markers and the other embellishments are also from my stash.

Anyway, thanks so much for looking and have a great weekend - Happy Mother's Day! :D

Snowed In!

Hi there! I don't know about you, but here is Staffordshire, the ground is covered with several inches of snow, and it looks like a blizzard outside! The snow is falling thick and fast, and me and my mum and my brother are at home because mine and my brother's schools are closed, woo hoo!
They're saying it's the coldest British winter in a century, and I'm not surprised, to be honest. It has been absolutely bitter of the last couple of weeks!
Here is just a very quick, basic card I made, with one of these lovely round, scalloped cards that Chris sent me.
Materials:
Image: Penny Black
Sentiment: Studio G
Flowers: Prima
Backing Paper: Dovecraft
Colouring Medium: Pro Markers
Other Embellishments: From my Stash
I am going to enter it into this week's A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge, where the challenge is to use hearts on your card. I didn't plan for this to be entered into any challenge when I made it, but how lucky is that that I found a challenge asking for hearts, lol!
Finally, here is my view from my bedroom window this morning. The amount has definitely doubled since I took this picture about an hour ago, and the snow is still coming!

A beautiful snowy tree in my garden.

Thanks for looking and I hope the snow doesn't affect people too badly, although no complaints about getting a day off school! ;)

Simon Says Challenge - Animal Antics

Hi! I had great weekend in Wales - apart from when I slipped over in a muddy bog, because I stupidly wore Uggs instead of walking boots and got covered in sludge, lol! ;)

Here is my card for this week's Simon Says Challenge, where the theme is 'Animal Antics'.

My flower was made using Rach's fab tutorial, the one that I used a couple of months ago on another card.
The papers are K&Co., the sentiment and floral stamps are Studio G, the image is Penny Black, the colouring was done with Pro Markers and the rest of the embellishments are from my stash.

Anyway, I'll go now and start our tea. I don't know why, I really felt like making tea tonight, because it gives Mum a break. I'm making African chilli and rice and I'm starving! :)

Thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments while I was away! :)

Christmas Card, GCSEs, Contact Lenses & A Cat Wearing A Wig!

Hello! My homework has died down a bit now, thankfully.
I've got my first GCSE exam of many more to come tomorrow morning at nine o'clock - a nice start to the day then, heh?
Actually, I'm not worried at all. I'm pretty confident with the work we've been doing and I'm not the sort of person who gets het up about exams.

Also, I've got my contact lenses now! I went for monthly disposables, and I'm getting more and more comfortable with putting them in and taking them out now, so I'm so glad I decided to have them.

This card is for this month's Crafty Monkeys Challenge, where the theme is Christmas. I think I've only got one more Christmas card to make now! I feel sorry for my mum, she's got much more to make than me!

The papers are Bo Bunny, the image is Penny Black, the colouring was done with Pro Markers, the glitter is Craft Planet and the rest of the embellishments are from my stash.

Before I go, I just thought I'd show you a couple of pictures of Fizzy - I think she's aged about twenty years, lol! She doesn't look too impressed! ;)

I can't wait until tomorrow night because me and my mum and dad and my brother are going away for the weekend to Harlech, where we went in July. I'm guessing there'll be lots of wintery walks and chocolate and snuggling up in front of X Factor involved, lol!

Thanks for looking!
xx

Charisma Cardz Challenge 35

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a nice evening.

I've just had a go at Rach's fantastic tutorial over on her blog for how to make scrunched-up flowers. I've been meaning to try it for ages but haven't really got round to it, so here's my attempt! I would have used glimmer mist on my flower, like it says in the tutorial, but I don't have any! I had a brainwave though, and I remembered that I have a tin of hair glitter spray in my wardrobe that I put in my hair for special occasions.
You can't really tell from the picture, but I've absolutely drenched my flower in the stuff and I'm quite pleased with the result!

I'm entering my card into this week's Charsima Cardz Challenge, where the theme is swirls and curls. There is an optional extra of hearts, but I'd already made the card when I saw the challenge so I haven't included hearts.

I'm not sure who the image is by, or the sentiment, but the colouring is ProMarkers, the backing papers are K & Co., the swirl stamps and butterfly stamps are borrowed from my mum and the rest of the embellishments are from my stash.

Here is a close-up of the flower before it went on the card:

Thank you for looking, and have a nice week! ;)

ABC Challenge - A Is For...

Hello! Hope the weather's good wherever you are, it's lovely and sunny here in Staffordshire.

We had a bit of a panic yesterday because it started chucking it down with rain when we were supposed to be going to a wedding! But luckily, it brightened up once we got there and we had a brilliant time.

I made this card for this week's ABC Challenge. They have now started their third run of the alphabet and this week, A is for Anything Goes, with the added option of animals. A nice easy one.

Sorry the background's a bit busy on the picture - I took it in front of my mum's fuschia pot in the garden.

Fizzy came out to say hello too while I was taking the picture...and nearly tripped me up by winding herself round my ankles! ;)

Here she is sunning herself, a bit of a prima donna, hm? ;)

I used two images, on the first one I chalked around the edge with my mum's Dovecraft shimmer chalks and then layered the coloured image on top using foam pads, which you can see on the picture below.
The image is Penny Black, the sentiment is Studio G, the leaf stamp was borrowed from my mum, the flowers are Prima, the paper is K & Co. - Roam, the pearls are from my stash and the colouring was done with Pro Markers.

Thanks for looking, and thanks to everyone who's entered my blog candy so far. Good luck! :)

Simon Says Challenge - Anything But A Card

Hellooo!
I checked out the Simon Says Challenge blog today and the theme over there is to make anthing but a card, so I followed in Jo's footsteps by making a bookmark!
This is the first time I've entered this challenge, but I really like it - I'll definitely go back! :)

I've taken the picture withthe bookmark inside my favourite book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

You may have noticed that I haven't watermarked my pictures today. That's because I noticed that when you click on one of my watermarked photos to zoom in, it doesn't zoom in as much as it does without the watermakr, plus it's a bit of a faff having to put it on every time anyway.

Materials
Image: Penny Black
Sentiment: Studio G
Colouring: Pro Markers
Embellishments: Ribbon, iced gems and adhesive gems from my stash - flower stamp is made by Studio G - sticky ribbon (behind image) is PaperMania

Thanks for looking!

A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge #63

Hi There! Hope the weather's good wherever you are, it's been drizzly all day here in Staffordshire but I'm not much of a sun-worshipper anyway. Something other than rain would make a nice change, though!
I'm entering this card into A Spoon Full Of Sugar, where the theme is 'Floral Fantasy'.
I have used one of these lovely round scalloped-edge cards sent to me by Chris. I really like these and I thought I'd try something a little different.
To fit in with the flower theme I have used flowery backing paper, three flowers and there are a couple of flowers on my image too.
Materials
Image: Penny Black
Sentiment: Studio G
Paper: Making Memories - Flower Patch
Embellishments: Iced gems, flowers and gems from my stash. Leaf stamp borrowed off my mum.

Here is a closer view:

Too Late!

Hi there! I made this card to enter the Crafty Monkeys Challenge run by Zoe and Hannah.
I don't know if you know but recently, Zoe and Hannah have decided to run it as a weekly challenge rather than fortnightly.
There was me, leisurely making my card, thinking I had plenty of time, a whole week! But I just went on to Crafty Monkeys and the next challenge has come up so unfortunately I won't be able to enter this card into the challenge but I can still post it on my blog.
What am I like?!
The theme for the challenge I missed was 'in the garden' so I chose this garden image and took my picture in my garden with flowers from my favourite plant out there.

Backing Paper: Making Memories - From Carole
Yellow Flower: Prima
Metal Flower: Unknown
Buttons: Unknown
Gems: PaperMania
