Vintage Camera

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been such a while since I last posted! I think the posts will come in dribs and drabs though until after my exams. I had my exam timetable the other day, and my very last one is on the 21st June, so if you hear cheering and screaming on that day coming from the North-West, you'll know why, hee hee! :)

Anyway, I managed to squeeze in some crafting now that it's the school holidays, aside from lots of chilling out in my pyjamas and watching TV, tee hee! I'm going out for lunch with my grandparents tomorrow though and hopefully getting some contact lenses at the opticians on Tuesday, so I won't be lazy all week...just most of it. ;)

I made this card with my new Dovecraft papers, and I thought I'd add a really pretty vintage photo of a camera that I found on the internet.

Cream & Gold

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I last posted - I can't believe it's the last week of the summer holidays already! It seems like ages since I've been at school, but at the same time, the last six weeks have gone really fast.
My mum and dad will both be at work on Friday, so I'm taking my little brother to my school, which he will also be starting next week, as the new starters are invited to come and look around to make themselves more familiar with the school before they start.

I'm also really pleased about my GCSE results, which I collected on results day last week. I'm just about to go into year eleven, so they're not my full results, but just for a few modules I did this year towards my final grades. I got an A in biology, an A in history, a B in maths and in geography I got an A and an A*, so I'm really thrilled!

Anyway, this is a card I made for my mum and dad's anniversary last week, as they have been married for seventeen years now, which is why I added the number seventeen to the card.

I went for a clean and simple feel for a change, which is really different to the kind of cards I normally make. I had a go at making one of my mum's torn roses, from the tutorial on her blog. It's not a patch on hers, but I'll definitely try them again - it's nice to make my own flowers for a change!

Materials:
Image: Sugar Nellie
Sentiment: Hero Arts
Pearlised Card: Crafters Companion
Numbers: Printed Off My Computer
Glitter: Stickles
Butterfly Punch: Unsure
Gems: The Hobby House
Swirl Stamp: Lizzie Ann Designs
Border Punch: Martha Stewart
Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils
Flower Centre: Prima

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last card, I really appreciate it!

I'm entering this card into these challenges:
- Less Is More - Take 3 Challenges - (Week 3 - Spring, Week 5 - Pastel Colours & Week 16 - Butterflies)
- Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
- Oldie But A Goodie - Lots Of Sparkle
- Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes & Blog Hop

Hopefully I'll be back before I go back to school with another card. I'm looking forward to seeing my friends again and starting a new term, but on the other hand, I don't want the summer holidays to end!

Anyway, thank you for looking and enjoy the rest of your week!

Pink & Sparkly

Hello! Hope you're having a nice weekend wherever you are! I'm making the most of having a free Saturday, without homework or revision to be getting on with. I had a biology exam on Thursday last week, which went quite well. I felt quite confident, but then I realised there was an extra question at the end that I hadn't known about, and I had no time to do it! So, that will have dropped me a few marks unfortunately, but there's nothing I can do about it now, and hopefully it won't affect my grade much.
Anyway, I've got a little breather now until my maths and geography exams in the middle of June, phew!

I had a little challenge hop earlier and there are lots of great challenges about today, so I've made a pink, girly and glittery card and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Pearls: From My Stash

Sepia & Experimenting With Colouring

Hi there! Sorry it's been so long since my last post!
It looks like it's starting to rain a bit now outside here, but at least it's a bit milder today! I can't believe we've only been living in our new house for just over a month, and it feels like we've been here for months and months!

For my card, I was about to colour my image when I saw my mum's Polychromatic pencils and I thought she wouldn't mind if I had a little go, as I usually use Pro Markers.
I am so pleased with how this image turned out on my first attempt and pleased that I've found a style of colouring that really suits me! I really enjoyed the colouring and found it quite easy to get the hang of, probably because I'm used to shading and rendering because of art at school!

Mum better watch her pencils now, hee hee! Also, it means I can try colouring much more delicate and intricate images, because before I would be worried about using an image like this because my Pro Markers tend to bleed over the edges in the very fine areas.

I went for a sepia effect on this card with the colouring and tied it in with the browns and neutral colours in the papers, and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I'm sad that I used that last of my Tim Holtz tickets though!

Materials:
Image: Sugar Nellie
Sentiments: Tim Holtz
Papers: My Mind's Eye
Flowers: Prima
Stamping: Stempelglede
Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils
Leaf Punch: Martha Stewart
Pearls, Brads & Spacers: From My Stash
Charm: Sent By Kim
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Here is a closer view of the coloured image.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and Happy Valentine's Day on Monday!
Thanks for looking!

Bold & Bright & A Lovely Award!

Hiya! Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend - I know I am! I had a lovely meal in McDonald's today and a McFlurry for afters, much to Mum's annoyance as she's dieting, lol!

I went bold and bright with my card today, which isn't something I do very often. Can you believe these gorgeous papers were from a big pad that came free with a magazine?! There are tons of beautiful designs in the pad and they're really good quality!

The image is by Sugar Nellie, one that I haven't used before.
I'm entering my card into two challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenges - Four-Legged And Furry (I used the bunny image)

Crafty Monkeys - Love or Friendship (I used the friendship sentiment)

A Card At Last, and a Christmas Break!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry it's been so long since I last posted a card, but it's so busy with it being Christmastime. I'm really glad though, because I've done all my homework, my school bag's packed ready for January, and yesterday I sorted through all my craft drawers and cleaned out my room, so it's nice and tidy and organised for Christmas. I don't know what it is about Christmas, but somehow everything has to be perfect so you don't have to worry about it when you're enjoying yourself.

I'm soooo excited now, and I'm really pleased with all the presents I've bought for people! :)

Anyway, here is another Christmas card I've done. I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

The image is Sugar Nellie, I'm not sure who the papers are by, the colouring was done with Pro Markers, the sentiment is part of the backing paper and the poinsettia and embellishments are from my stash.

I won't be posting any more cards now over Christmas, but I'll be back on New Year's Day with my Design Team card for Challenge 4 of the Crafty Calendar Challenge!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and Happy New Year! :)

Before I go, here's a Christmas picture of Fizzy I edited on Picnik:

Merry Christmas!

A Christmas Card & Candy Win!

Hi there, hope everyone's had a nice weekend. Back to school tomorrow for me! I've had a teacher training day today, so I've been making the most of my last day by chilling out!

I can't believe Jedward got through on X Factor last night! I'm actually worried that they might win it, lol!

Last week, I won Lisa's birthday blog candy, which was a £15 gift certificate to Bunnzy-Zoe's Crafts, so as you can imagine, I was made up!
My goodies have arrived today, which you can see on the picture. I got a High Hopes 'Party Hippo' rubber stamp, some half pearls, a selection of twenty mixed charms and two gorgeous paper pads, so I'm really chuffed with everything, and can't wait to use it all!
Thanks again to Lisa and to Nikki for sending my stuff so quickly! :)

This card I have made is for this week's Creative Card Crew Challenge, where they have a theme of snowflakes. So, I've added a couple of punched out snowflakes to my flowers.
I want to get all my Christmas cards done in advance so I can send them out early in December and not end up rushing like me and my mum normally do! ;)
The image is Sugar Nellie, the papers are Bo Bunny, the flowers are Prima, the colouring was done with Pro Markers and the rest of the embellishments are from my stash.
Thanks for looking and have a good week. :)

Sketch and Stash Challenge #7

Hi there! Here is my entry for this week's Sketch and Stash Challenge.
I am really pleased with this card!
There was an 'open sketch' to follow for this challenge; the position of the paper panels and the image is compulsory but you are allowed the put the sentiment and embellishments wherever you want so I came up with this.
It is my first card using a 'Gorjuss' stamp as I was surprised at how easy she was to colour - I have seen how so many people leave a little white section on her fringe to show a sheen from the light but I didn't really know how to do this so I coloured her fringe in fully.
Materials:
Image: Gorjuss
Colouring: ProMarkers (given to me by Mum after she got her Copics, woo hoo! Thanks Mum!)
Backing Paper: From Sarita
Leaves: From Mum's Stash
Sentiment: Studio G
Flowers (Black and White): From Michele
Pearl Flowers: Unknown
Gems in Flower Centres: From Tab
Gems on Image: PaperMania
Thanks for looking - HAPPY EASTER!
