Get Well Soon

Update: I'd just like to say thank you so much for all your get well wishes for my grandad. Luckily, he's out of intensive care now, and his operation went well with no complications! :)

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely week! It seems to be going really slowly this week. I don't know why, but I think it's because I got in late from school trip last night and I really wanted a lie-in this morning, so I thought it was the weekend, ha ha! I went to see 'An Inspector Calls' at the theatre with school as part of my English GCSE, and I loved it! I thought the acting and the set were brilliant and really enjoyed the play, so I'd definitely recommend it if you get the chance to see it, especially if you've read the book.

Anyway, I made this card a few days ago for my grandad, who is having an operation on his heart. He was supposed to be having it today, but it was cancelled at the last minute, so he will be having it over the next couple of days, so I really hope it goes OK.

Materials:

Image: High Hopes

Sentiment: Printed Off The Computer

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Papers: Basic Grey - Max & Whiskers

Glitter: Stickles - Picket Fence (Bandage) & Lime Green (Leaf)

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Leaf Punch: Woodware

Ribbon: From Chris

Pearls, Gems & Buttons: From My Stash

Cardstock: Bazzil

Glossy Accents: Ranger

I had a go at using Glossy Accents on the bug in the image of my card, but it was slightly disastrous, ha ha! It was all stuck in the end of the bottle, so it all popped out when I squeezed it and went everywhere! I managed to wipe it off and it looked OK when it was dry, but I think I'll be a bit more careful with it next time! :D

I'm entering this card into these challenges:

- Basic Grey Challenges - Anything Goes

- High Hopes - Anything Goes

- Our Creative Corner - Masculine Card/Project

It's starting to feel very autumnal now, and even wintery at times! It makes me feel all snug and cosy, hee hee! The other morning, when I woke up, I thought it had snowed because the window was steamed up and all I could see was white frost outside! :)

Thank you for looking and enjoy the rest of your week!

Love, Georgia xx

A Card At Last!

Hi there! Sorry it's been so long since I last posted! Blogger has been really playing up, so I haven't been able to post for ages without all the text in my post grouping together, which was really annoying, but it seems like it's back to normal now, so I hope it won't play up any more.

I made this card for my dad's birthday, which was a couple of weeks ago. I had another go at paper piecing, which I've only tried once before, but really enjoyed. I also used my cute Max & Whiskers pad by Basic Grey, which I won in Liz's blog candy, which is really good for male cards. I'm always a bit wary about male cards, because I think it's hard to know what to put on them because you don't have the choice of flowers and pearls and things like that.

Materials:
Image: High Hopes

Sentiment: Unsure, Magnolia (I Think!)

Lettering: Borrowed From My Mum

Papers: Basic Grey - Max & Whiskers

Border Punch: Martha Stewart

Ribbon: From My Stash

Cardstock: Bazzil

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Gems: From My Stash

Buttons: From My Stash

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

I am addicted to these little Scrabble-style letter stamps of my mum's, they're great for spelling out short sentiments or personalising a card with a name!

For my dad's birthday, me and my brother joined together to buy him a ticket to see Footloose at the theatre, and my mum also bought a ticket, so that she could go with him, as they both love their eighties music! My dad was really pleased with the ticket and they had a brilliant time!

I am also entering this card into these challenges:

- Cupcake Craft Challenges - Something Beginning With C (Criss-Cross)

- High Hopes Challenge - Anything Goes

- Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes

- Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Paper Piecing

- Bunny-Zoe's Monthly Challenge - One For The Boys

I am so glad I've been able to post this card at last! It was so frustrating not being able to post without my layout being messed up!

Did people enjoy the Royal Wedding? I thought it was really nice and everyone looked lovely!

Anyway, I'd better go now. It was a real shock to the system to go back to school after a lovely long two weeks off and a nice relaxing Easter, but I'm really looking forward to my work experience week, which is coming up soon! I am going to my old primary school, so it should be really good!

Thanks so much for looking and enjoy the rest of your week!

Love, Georgia xx

Finally A Card!

Hi there! I hope everyone's having a great week! It feels like ages since I've posted anything on my blog, I've been pretty busy and I haven't really felt like making a card much. I'm back at school now after the Easter holidays, and I'm so glad the nice weather has stayed! Hopefully it'll last for the summer! I won't hold my breath though, ha ha!

I made this card for my Dad, as it was his birthday last Sunday. I'm entering it into this week's A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge, where the theme is 'happy birthday'.

Materials:
Image: High Hopes
Sentiment: Studio G
'DAD' Lettering: Cuttlebug
Ladybird: Cuttlebug
Papers: K & Co. - Hopskotch
Cardstock: Bazzil
Embellishments: From my Stash
Colouring: Pro Markers

I'm so glad Britain's Got Talent is back again! I love the auditions, they're so funny, ha ha! Anyway, thanks so much for looking and sorry I haven't been around much recently.
Enjoy the rest of your week and have a lovely weekend! :)

A Card At Last!

Hi everyone!
I'm sorry I haven't posted a card in over a week! My homework's been pretty full-on, but I've managed to get it all done now, so hopefully, unless I get any more tomorrow, I'll have a homework-free weekend, which is a total rarity, lol!

I'm totally in the Christmas mood now! My dad put up our Christmas lights today, and we put the indoor decorations up last weekend, so I'm really excited now!

I made this card for this week's Allsorts Challenge, where the theme is to use buttons. I used my new High Hopes stamp and new papers - I wanted to make a more boyish card for a change, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

One good thing about this time of year, is that there's always loads of great TV on! At the moment I've got X Factor, I'm A Celebrity and one of my favourite programmes, Waterloo Road, shame it's only on once a year!

The image is High Hopes, the papers are K&Co., the star gems are PaperMania, the sentiment is Studio G, the colouring was done with Pro Markers and the rest of the embsllishments are from my stash.

Don't forget to tune into Challenge 3 of the Crafty Calendar Challenge tomorrow - I can't believe it's two whole months since it started! My Design Team card should appear here tomorrow morning if the scheduling works - fingers crossed! :)

Thanks so much for looking! :)
Love from, Georgia xx

Daring Cardmakers - Anniversaries

Hi there!
My mum and dad's 15th wedding anniversary is coming up this Friday, so this card is for them. I am also making them a meal and I have got them some wine and chocolates to go with it.
I used one of my new High Hopes images that my mum stamped out for me, which I love!

I've told my mum to temporarily remove me from her 'Blogs I Follow' list so she isn't tempted to peek, and I've hid the wine and chocs in my room! Don't tell! Ha ha ;)

I am entering the card into this week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge, where the theme is conveniently 'Anniversaries'.

The image is High Hopes, the sentiment was printed off my computer, the backing paper is October Afternoon, the glitter cardstock is from a local homeware shop and the flower, chipboard heart, heart gems, red gems, and fluffy ribbon is from my stash. The glitter is Craft Planet.

Thank you for looking!

Love, Georgia xxxx

UPDATE: I just found out that I made Top 5 at Cupcake Crafts Challenge! :)

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Four Seasons

Hi there!
Here is my card I am entering into this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge.
I haven't posted any cards since last Tuesday because my internet connection's been down and we've only just got it sorted, after about a million phone calls and a very fed up mum! ;)
Unfortunately, my mum, Tara, can't access Blogger at all on her computer and we don't know why.
When she tries to get onto the Blogger page to sign in, the computer says: 'Internet Explorer Cannot Find This Page'. If you have any suggestions or solutions as to what might be wrong, I'm sure she'd be really grateful. You can find her blog HERE.

Anyway, the theme on this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge is 'Four Seasons'. You have to create a card that relates to a certain season. I picked summer so I used warm colours and the watermelon reminds me of summer too.

Materials
Image: High Hopes
Sentiment: Borrowed From My Mum
Papers: Cherry Hill
Embellishments: Gems, brads and ribbon from my stash. Flower punch borrowed from my mum, flower and corner stamps borrowed from my mum.

Thank you for looking!

Bye for now!

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #59

Hi there! I am entering this card into this week's Cute Card Thrusday Challenge.
The theme is 'Happy Mail' - you have to make a card to cheer someone up or make their day.

Materials:
Image: High Hopes
Sentiment: Studio G (I think! Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!).
Ribbon: PaperMania
Flower: From Michele
Dragonafly Metal Brad: From Mum
Backing Paper: K & Co. - Sweet And Sparkly
Star Gems: PaperMania

I've had a good day today, I made chocolate chip cookies at school in my tech food lesson and they went really well. I'm eating one now as I type! Unfortunately, the girl opposite me put way too much milk in her dough and her mixture was like a runny cake mixture rather than a dry dough so her cookies spread out on the tray and went black! Whoops! :)

Thanks for looking and don't forget to watch Waterloo Road and The Apprentice tonight! I hope Lorraine is fired! :)

xx

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hello! Here is my entry for this week's Our Creative Corner Challenge. There is a really easy theme, for this challenge - make a card using one of your favourite colours combinations.

I like pink green and blue together so I raided my papers and found this Paisley pattern in my Sparkly Sweet Pad.

Materials:

Image: High Hopes

Sentiment: Studio G

Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug

Backing Paper: K & Co. - Sparkly Sweet

Ribbon: PaperMania

Star Gems: PaperMania

Big Pink Flower: From Tab

Small Pink Flower: From Michele

Metal Flower: Unknown

Brad: PaperMania

Thanks for looking! I hope the weather improves for everyone soon! I don't know if it's just the north-west of England that's being affected? Come back sun!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow because I'm going to have a lesson-free day at school! In the morning I've got an orthodontist appointment and I'm getting my braces fitted. Then in the afternoon, I'll be going back to school but me and lots of my friends in my form are taking part in a special workshop where we will be putting on a presentation to some primary-school children!

Then the icing on the cake is that in the evening I've got Waterloo Road and The Apprentice to watch! Yay! Sorry, I know I'm a bit sad to get this excited over T.V. programmes!

I really like the High Hopes range of stamps.
Materials:
Image: High Hopes - From Nikki
Flowers: Unknown - From Lisa
Backing Paper: Unknown - From Lisa

The theme for High Hopes this week is 'buttons galore' so I used some little pearlised buttons without holes. On Charisma Cardz I had to follow a sketch.

Crafty Monkeys Guest Designer

Hello! I have been selected to be this fortnight's guest designer on Zoe's challenge blog: Crafty Monkeys.
The theme was Easter so I raided my stuff and found some suitable things to use.
I experimented with panels this time. There were going to be three panels and the card was going to be wider to fit the other panel on but when I was sticking it down, I stuck it lopsided so I tried to peel it off and straighten it but the glue had started to go tacky and it ripped. Oh well! :)
Materials:
Image: High Hopes - From Nikki
Sentiment: Printed off the computer
Backing Paper: From Jo
Big Pink Flower: From Sarita
Small Pink Flower: From Michele
Small White Flower: From Michele
Flower Stamp: Unknown
Thanks for looking!
