Father's Day

Hello! Wow, I can't believe how hot it is today and how hot is was yesterday! I decided to photograph my card outside today because it's so nice and bright!
I made this card for my dad for Father's Day, coming up in a couple of weeks. I thought this cute High Hopes image would be perfect, ha ha!

Materials:

Image: High Hopes

Sentiment: Printed Off The Computer

Lettering: Cuttlebug - Fairy Alphabet

Papers: Basic Grey - Max & Whiskers

Cardstock: Bazzil

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Twine: From Liz

Lace: From Heather

Buttons: From My Stash

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Eyelets: Unknown - From My Mum's Stash

Glossy Accents: Anita's

I'm entering this card into these challenges:

- Basic Grey Challenges - Shabby Chic (Torn Edges and Distressing)

- Creative Inspirations - Cute Bears/Animals Only

- Cute Card Thursday - Embellish It!

- Oldie But A Goodie Challenge - Lots of Layers

- Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Father's Day/For A Male

- The ABC Challenge - V Is For... Variety (At Least Three Types of Embellishment)

I used Glossy Accents on my image, which you can see a bit more clearly in the picture below. It looks like he's getting a good tan in the sun, hee hee! I'm really pleased with how it turned out and I really enjoyed doing the torn effect on the backing paper and the image. I saw it on one of my mum's vintage cards and thought I'd try it and I think I'll definitely use that on cards in future!

I've had a lovely week off school! I went to see the new Pirates of the Carribean film the other night and then went to Pizza Hut afterwards, and I thought the film was really good!

I've also been shopping and tonight I'm going to see Take That in Manchester for their Progress Tour, I'm so excited! I will definitely post some photos soon!

Anyway, I'd better go now and tidy up my crafting mess before I start getting ready to go later on! Bye for now and thanks for looking! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a lovely week!

Love, Georgia xx

Pink & Sparkly

Hello! Hope you're having a nice weekend wherever you are! I'm making the most of having a free Saturday, without homework or revision to be getting on with. I had a biology exam on Thursday last week, which went quite well. I felt quite confident, but then I realised there was an extra question at the end that I hadn't known about, and I had no time to do it! So, that will have dropped me a few marks unfortunately, but there's nothing I can do about it now, and hopefully it won't affect my grade much.
Anyway, I've got a little breather now until my maths and geography exams in the middle of June, phew!

I had a little challenge hop earlier and there are lots of great challenges about today, so I've made a pink, girly and glittery card and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Materials:
Image: Sugar Nellie
Papers: Imaginisce
Cardstock: Bazzil
Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils
Sentiment: Fairy Doodles
Lace: From My Stash (From Heather)
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy
Glitter: Stickles
Pearls: From My Stash
Felt Butterfly: From My Stash
Swirl Stamps: Lizzie Ann Designs
Flowers: From My Stash
White Circle: Nestabilities

Can you believe I'm entering this card into ten challenges?! You'd better sit back and put your feet up, ha ha!

- A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
- Crafty Emma's Store Challenge - Three Types of Embellishment (Lace, Pearls & Flowers)
- Charisma Cardz Challenge - Birthdays in Pink
- Crafty Calendar Challenge - Teddy Bears
- Creative Card Crew Challenge - Cute and Girly
- Creative Inspirations Challenge - Lace & Pearls
- Oldie But A Goodie Challenge - Teddy Bears' Picnic
- Papertake Weekly Challenge - Bloom & Grow
- Simon Says Challenge - Sparkle 'n' Shine
- Truly Scrumptious Challenge - Anything Goes

Wow, that took a while to link up, hee hee!
Well, I'm off to have a walk to the shop and get some chocolate and then veg on the settee for the afternoon, bliss!

Thanks so much for looking - have a lovely weekend! :)

Celebrate Spring

Hi there! I hope everyone is having a great weekend and enjoying the nice weather wherever you are! Sorry it's been so long since I last post, but I actually have been doing a lot of crafting. I've made two cards for my mum, whose birthday is this coming week, one from me and one from my dad, but I'm not posting them until after her birthday, in case she sees them on my blog! I am so excited about tomorrow for my birthday! I had a brilliant time last night with my friends, as I had my party at Pizza Hut and we had some lovely pizza and hot cookie dough for pudding! Anyway, I made this card with a spring theme and I tried out this cute Sarah Kay image that I've never used before, because Pro Markers were a bit too chunky for the intricute bits on Sarah Kay images, but now I'm using Polychromatic pencils, I can use them now, yay! I've got a bit of a mix of papers on this card. The blue spotty paper is My Mind's Eye and the pink paper is Annalee.
Materials:

Image: Sarah Kay

Sentiment: Studio G

Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug

Flowers: From My Stash

Cardstock: Bazzil

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Glitter: Stickles

Leaf Punch: Woodware

Flower Stamps: Unknown (Given To Me By My Mum)

Brads: Paper Mania

Liquid Pearls: Borrowed From My Mum

I've got strict instructions from my mum not to look at her blog today, because the card she made for my birthday is being used as her Guest Design Team card for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge! I can't wait to see it, hee hee!

I am entering this card into these challenges:

- Cupcake Craft Challenges - Pink Polka Dots (On the Punched Leaves)

- Papertake Weekly Challenge - Lemon Zingy (On the Image and Flowers)

- Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for looking and have a lovely week!

I'll be back soon hopefully with my mum's birthday cards!

Spring Card & An Award

Hi everyone, hope you're having a nice weekend!
I'm so glad I don't have to go to school tomorrow, now that it's half-term! Today, we went to see the new Narnia film at the cinema, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which was brilliant! I love the Narnia films, but this one was even better than I expected!

I made this card to fit in with a few challenges, seeing as I couldn't find any for my last card. I'm entering it into the following challenges:
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Love
The ABC Challenge - 'O' is for Old Fashioned (Vintage, distessing etc).
Charisma Cardz - Spring
Allsorts Challenge - Inspired By Nature
Cute Card Thursday - Shiny

You might recognise this image, I think it is Penny Black but I'm not sure. Before, the rabbit was holding a big bunch of flowers and leaves with a little mouse holding onto it, but I ended up cutting it down a bit after I'd coloured it, because it just looked strange against the background!

Materials:
Image: Penny Black (I think!)
Sentiment: Hero Arts
Papers: Basic Grey - Porcelain
Jute Ribbon: Bunny-Zoe's Crafts
Beaded Ribbon: From My Stash
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz
Flowers: From My Stash
Pearls: Martha Stewart
Scalloped Circle: Nestabilities
Cardstock: Bazzil
Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

I had another go at using my mum's Poly pencils and I really love them, tee hee! I've definitely got the bug for them now and they're much easier to use than I thought they would be!
Anyway, better go now. I've got lots of work to do over the holidays, as I have a couple of exams and assessments coming up when I go back to school.

Before I go, Fiona, Rachel and Caroline have given me this lovely award and I just wanted to pass it on. Thanks so much for the award!

'You have been TAGGED and want to participate? Then create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the persons link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged
Dear bloggers:The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, probably more known than mine but I just want to share their gorgeeous cards if you haven't already visited them! So I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers. This is the hard part passing it on as ALL you fellow crafting bloggers deserve this award but rules is rules & I am passing this onto...'

Just Magnolia Challenge

Hiya! Hope you're having a great week! I've had a really exciting day today! We had a non-uniform day at school today and all the different year groups were doing different sponsored activities to raise money for African charities. In year nine, my college had to do a sponsored walk around the school grounds and collect as many tokens with African place names on them as possible to win, and my group won, which means we've won Alton Towers tickets! I couldn't believe it! :)

Anyway, onto my card. I made this with my new Basic Grey papers I treated myself to from Bunny-Zoe's Crafts! I'm entering it into this week's Just Magnolia Challenge, where the theme is 'Anything Goes'.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Papers: Basic Grey - Green At Heart
Sentiment: Studio G
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Cardstock: Bazzil
Flowers: From My Stash
Other Embellishments: From My Stash
Colouring: ProMarkers
It's been really dull today and it started raining really heavily this afternoon, but I suppose I can't really groan after all the lovely weather we've had over April, which will hopefully come back soon, ha ha!
Thanks so much for looking and have a lovely weekend! :)

Finally A Card!

Hi there! I hope everyone's having a great week! It feels like ages since I've posted anything on my blog, I've been pretty busy and I haven't really felt like making a card much. I'm back at school now after the Easter holidays, and I'm so glad the nice weather has stayed! Hopefully it'll last for the summer! I won't hold my breath though, ha ha!

I made this card for my Dad, as it was his birthday last Sunday. I'm entering it into this week's A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge, where the theme is 'happy birthday'.

Materials:
Image: High Hopes
Sentiment: Studio G
'DAD' Lettering: Cuttlebug
Ladybird: Cuttlebug
Papers: K & Co. - Hopskotch
Cardstock: Bazzil
Embellishments: From my Stash
Colouring: Pro Markers

I'm so glad Britain's Got Talent is back again! I love the auditions, they're so funny, ha ha! Anyway, thanks so much for looking and sorry I haven't been around much recently.
Enjoy the rest of your week and have a lovely weekend! :)

Magnolia Fest!

Hi there! Oh no, looks like more rain's been forecast! Mind you, it's better than snow!

Yesterday, I fancied doing something other than a card, so I decorated this little box that someone gave me a necklace in. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, as these aren't usually the sort of colours I'd put together. You've probably noticed I'm having a bit of a Magnolia fest at the moment, I just can't get enough of all the cute Tildas! This image was sent to me by the lovely, Heather, as part of a birthday present, thanks Heather!

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Lettering: Cuttlebug
Flowers: From My Stash
Cardstock: Bazzil
Paper: October Afternoon
Metal Flowers: From The NEC
Gems: From My Stash
Colouring: Pro Markers

I can't believe how much mess I made from just making this box! Most of it was paper scraps from my Cuttlebug machine, which I haven't used in ages!

I'm entering this box into The ABC Challenge, where the theme is 'R is for Red'.

Thanks for looking and hope everyone's having a great Easter!

Just Magnolia Challenge & More Snow!

Hi! I can't believe it, but we've had more snow! Just when I thought it was gone for the year, I woke up to a several inch covering of it everywhere, and it's still snowing now!

Anwyay, here is a card I made last night for this week's Just Magnolia Challenge, where the theme is to use hearts and flowers on your card. I used some K&Co. paper and cut a heart out of it with a Nestie shape and then embossed and sanded it.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiment: Studio G (I think!)
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Colouring: Pro Markers
Papers: K&Co.
Ribbon: From my stash
Flowers: Prima
Other Embellishments: From my stash

I can't believe I've had this lovely glitter ribbon for about two years now, and I've never used it until I made this card! I think I was a bit scared of wasting it, lol!

I very much doubt it, but you never know, there's a chance of the school being closed tomorrow, lol!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a nice week! If I don't make another card beforehand, I'll be back on Friday with my Crafty Calendar Challenge Design Team card - don't forget to tune in for Challenge 5! :)

Bye for now!
Love, Georgia xx

Sketch & Stash Challenge 19

Hiya everyone. Well, look's like the weekend's almost up, but at least we still have X-Factor to look forward to in a bit, lol!

Just wanted to show you my card for this fortnight's Sketch & Stash Challenge. There is a fabulous sketch this fortnight, and I will definitely use it again.

The image is one of the adorable Swiss Pixies from CC Designs. I'm not sure where the paper was from. I forgot I had it. The flowers are Prima, the brad and gems are from my stash, the faux stitching stamp is borrowed from my mum. The glitter is Craft Planet, the colouring was done with Pro Markers and the embossing folder is by Cuttlebug.

Right, I'll go and enter the card into the S&S Challenge and then I can pack away and settle down for X Factor, lol. :)

Bye for now, and thanks so much for taking the time to look!

Crafty Monkeys Challenge #29 - 1st Birthday

Hello! Firstly, I'd like to say a big "happy birthday" to Crafty Monkeys, the children's challenge.
There is no brief this week except that your card has to be made only for the challenge so here is my entry.

I embossed the bottom half of the card with one of my mum's Cutllebug emobssing folders and used some of my stash that I haven't touched in a while, which is good.

I made a bit of a mistake but it turned out to be good! In the bottom right-hand corner I punched out a butterfly but it went off the edge of the card so I snipped off the whole corner to get rid of it and I'm quite pleased with the effect so I added some dew drops which were part of the candy I recently received.

Materials:
Image: Tilda
Sentiment:
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Colouring: Pro Markers
Backing Paper: PaperMania
Ribbon: PaperMania
Buttons: From my stash
Flowers: From my stash
Brad: PaperMania
Dew Drops: From my candy

Also, have you heard about Michael Jackson? I turned on the BBC Breakfast Show this morning and there were people with candles and wearing Michael Jackson t-shirts and I couldn't believe it. I wasn't alive for most of his era but I'm so shocked! I still haven't got my head round it! I'm watching an ITV tribute programme now as I type.
R.I.P Michael Jackson

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend! :)

Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge #21

Hellooo! :)
Here is the card I am entering into this weeks' Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge.
There is a fab sketch over there at the moment so I decided to enter using my new paper pad.
I'm trying to start layering up my cards a bit more - I'm used to just using one sheet of paper and then putting on my image and embellishments but I'm trying to use more different papers on my cards and add embossed card for texture.

Materials:
Image: Tilda
Sentiment: Studio G
Flower Stamp: 7 Gypsies
Backing Papers: K & Co. - Roam
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Gems: PaperMania

Oops! I've just suddenly realised that I missed a little part of the sketch! There are supposed to be three little circles at the top left hand corner of the brown rectangle but I forgot! Oh well, I suppose it won't hurt. ;)

Anyway, I'd better sign out now as I need to pack my school bag for tomorrow.
Thanks for taking the time to visit! :)

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #62

Hi there!
I'm entering this card into this week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge. The theme over there is 'bling' which suits me!
I love adding sparkly stuff to my card so I found this easy. I've put a line of gems along the bottom edge of the image and glitter on Snoopy's plane.

I've made this card for my dad for Father's Day - I'm quite pleased with it as I used a layout I wouldn't normally use.

I also tried distressing which I wasn't very confident in doing but my mum gave me a mini tutorial so I get the basic idea of how to do it now.

Materials:
Image: Snoopy
Sentiment: Printed off the computer
Backing Paper: PaperMania
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Gems: PaperMania
Ribbon: Unknown
Glitter: Stickles

I thought I'd leave you with a few pictures of my dad's new aquarium. He's always wanted one so in secret, we got him one for his fortieth!

He was really chuffed and now we've got some fish in it so I thought I'd show you a couple of pictures.

We have four 'red balloon platies' which we've called 'The Red Arrows' because they're really fast.

We've also got five 'neon tetras' called 'The Jackson Five', lol!

Finally we've got five 'zebra danios'. We haven't thought of a group name for them yet so if you have any ideas, they would be very welcome! They are yellowy-cream with little stripes, if that helps.

Next week we're getting two 'red dwarf gouramis' and a catfish. We're not sure about a group name for the gouramis yet but we're naming the catfish Bobby after my cat who died.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling on now and sign off. Sorry sbout the length of the post!
Thanks for looking!

Sketch Saturday Challenge #52 and an Award!

Good Morning! Happy weekend! :)

I'm so pleased because I've broken up from school for the Whit Holiday!
Another good thing is that I have hardly any homework! I've got a history project on the JFK Assassination due in after half-term but I've finished that so I only have a couple of bits and pieces left to do.

I made this card for this week's Sketch Saturday Challenge.

There was a lovely sketch to follow and I am rally happy with the result of my card. Everything just seemed to fall into place as I wanted it to, which is rare! :)

Materials:
Image: Rubber Romance
Sentiment: Studio G
Backing Paper: K & Co. - Sparkly Sweet
Green Flowers: Prima
Blue Flower: From Michele
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug

Before I go, here is the lovely award I have been given by Lisa. Thanks so much Lisa!

I am going to pass it on to:
Enjoy your long weekend and thanks for looking! :)

Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge #17

Hello! Just a quick post to show you my entry for this week's Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge. There is a lovely sketch so I have based my card on that.

I'm quite pleased with my card because I don't normally use die cuts and I used the paper flowers on this card as components from the sketch.

Pearls: Unknown

Hello! Whoopee, Monday Morning. :(
Oh well, I just wanted to quickly post my card that I am entering into this week's Crafty Monkeys Challenge.
The theme is 'One For The Boys!'
Therefore, you have to make a male card.
I don't like making male cards much but my little brother's birthday is coming up on 1st June so I decided to enter this card I made for him into the challenge.
I'd better make sure he doesn't see my blog for a while now, until he can't see this post anymore!

Glitter (Below Ribbon): Stickles
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug

Hello! Here is my entry for this week's Our Creative Corner Challenge. There is a really easy theme, for this challenge - make a card using one of your favourite colours combinations.

Thanks for looking! I hope the weather improves for everyone soon! I don't know if it's just the north-west of England that's being affected? Come back sun!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow because I'm going to have a lesson-free day at school! In the morning I've got an orthodontist appointment and I'm getting my braces fitted. Then in the afternoon, I'll be going back to school but me and lots of my friends in my form are taking part in a special workshop where we will be putting on a presentation to some primary-school children!

Then the icing on the cake is that in the evening I've got Waterloo Road and The Apprentice to watch! Yay! Sorry, I know I'm a bit sad to get this excited over T.V. programmes!
