Vintage Camera

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been such a while since I last posted! I think the posts will come in dribs and drabs though until after my exams. I had my exam timetable the other day, and my very last one is on the 21st June, so if you hear cheering and screaming on that day coming from the North-West, you'll know why, hee hee! :)

Anyway, I managed to squeeze in some crafting now that it's the school holidays, aside from lots of chilling out in my pyjamas and watching TV, tee hee! I'm going out for lunch with my grandparents tomorrow though and hopefully getting some contact lenses at the opticians on Tuesday, so I won't be lazy all week...just most of it. ;)

I made this card with my new Dovecraft papers, and I thought I'd add a really pretty vintage photo of a camera that I found on the internet.

Materials:

Image: Sugar Nellie

Sentiments: Tim Holtz

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Papers: Dovecraft - Sugar & Spice

Cardstock: Bazzil

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Flowers, Pearls, Charm, Jute Ribbon, Bow, Gem & Chipboard Shapes: From My Stash

Brads: Paper Mania

Vintage Crackle Glaze Card

Hi everyone - I hope you're having a lovely weekend! It feels like ages since I've posted on my blog! It's been a little bit neglected, but I've been quite busy with lots of assessments I've had to do for school, with it being my last year now, and the work is really going to start piling on with it being such an important year, but I'm trying to squeeze in a bit of cardmaking when I can. To be honest, because I hadn't made a card for so long, I wasn't really in the mood, but I really enjoyed making this!

This month, it's the second blogoversary of the Crafty Calendar Challenge, which I set up and ran for about a year, more or less, I think. I stepped down from running the challenge a while ago because of how much time it took up, but I really loved running it, and thankfully, both Lisa and Lynne have continued to run the challenge, so I'm really grateful and happy that the challenge was able to continue!

Anyway, Lynne added a really nice message about me starting the challenge in this month's post, so I felt compelled to enter, seeing as it's two years since it started! The theme this month is 'Spooky', so I used this cute Halloween image that my mum gave me. I'm not sure who it's by, so if anyone has any idea and would let me know for next time, that'd be great! Thanks! :)

Materials:
Image: Unknown - Given To Me By My Mum
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: Basic Grey - Max & Whiskers
Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy
Flowers, Brads, Gems, Pins, Leaf & Buttons: From My Stash
Glitter: Stickles - Star Dust
Raffia Lace: Bunny-Zoe's Crafts
Spider: Cuttlebug
Swirl Stamps: From My Mum's Stash
Crackle Glaze: Ranger
Film Reel: Tim Holtz

I had a go at using some Crackle Glaze on my image, which I've never tried before. It smudged the ink of the image a little bit, but I suppose it doesn't really make much difference, and I'm pleased with the effect, so I'll definitely be using it again! :)

I'm entering this card into these challenges:
- Crafty Calendar Challenge - Spooky
- Charisma Cardz - Anything Goes
- Kaboodle Doodles - Halloween/Fall
- Oldie But A Goodie - Forever Autumn
- Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Spooky or Whimsical
- Stampin' For The Weekend - Spooky
- ABC Challenge - B is For Boo

I can't believe how quickly half term is going! I've had a really nice week and it's been pretty busy too! I went out for a meal with my brother and grandparents on Monday, went to my friend's house for lunch on Tuesday, had a sleepover with two friends on Wednesday, went to Cadbury World in Birmingham yesterday (Friday) and I'm going out for a curry with two friends tonight, phew! I usually spend most of my time chilling out over the holidays, but lots of things have popped up to do this week, which has been great fun!

Anyway, I'd better go now, as I want to do a big blog-hop, seeing as I haven't been blogging for so long, and catch up on what everyone's been making! Thanks so much for looking and have a great weekend Oh, and enjoy X Factor tonight - I know I will, hee hee! :)

Vintage Bookmark

Hello! I hope you've had a lovely week and are looking forward to the weekend! I love that Friday feeling when you get home from school and can just chill out! Thank you for all your lovely comments about going back to school! I've had a really nice first two weeks back, and my little brother has really enjoyed his first couple of weeks of year seven and seems to be settling in well.

I made this bookmark for my mum, as she is in the middle of reading the Harry Potter books for the first time at the moment, so I thought I'd make her a vintage bookmark to use.

I've had this cute little Penny Black image for ages and have never used it before, but I think it's perfect for gift boxes and bookmarks because of its size.

Materials:

Image: Penny Black

Papers: Prima - Annalee

Cardstock: Crafters Companion

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Fibres, Flowers, Spacers & Gems: From My Stash

Ruffled Ribbon: From Chris

Vintage Stamps: Tim Holtz

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Paint: Tim Holtz Acrylic Dabber

Brads: PaperMania

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

- Allsorts Challenge - Flowers & Swirls

- Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes

- Cupcake Craft Challenges - Back To School

- Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

I'm just off to make a card for a great challenge I've just spotted - will be back soon hopefully with a card, and then you'll see which challenge I mean!

I know it's only September, but I feel all cosy, because it's just started raining outside and we're having a roast dinner for tea, yum - my favourite tea! :)

Anyway, thanks for looking and have a great weekend, whatever you're doing!

Bye for now, love, Georgia xx

Messy Rabbit Card & Gift

Hello! I hope everyone is having a great week! I can't believe nearly four weeks of the summer holidays have gone already!

I made this card and some earrings in a little gift box for my great-grandma, who turns ninety-two in just over a week. Sorry the photos aren't very clear. I took them last night in my garden and the light wasn't that good, and I couldn't take anymore today because I've packed everything up to post off to Reading, where she lives.
Anyway, I used this cute Messy Rabbit image by Joanna Sheen, as I thought she might like it. I also tried out my mum's new Magnolia Doohickey die, which I really like because it'll go with a lot!

Materials:

Image: Joanna Sheen - Messy Rabbit

Sentiment: Printed Off The Computer

Papers: K & Co. - Classic

Flowers: From My Stash (Green One Coloured With Pro Marker)

Ribbon: From My Stash

Swirls: Magnolia - Doohickey Die

Swirl Stamps: Lizzie Ann Designs

Doily: From My Stash

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Dew Drops: From My Stash

Pearls & Pearl Hearts: From My Stash

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Here are the box and earrings I made to go with the card. I really like making earrings - they're so quick and easy and make really nice simple gifts!

The papers I used for it are from the same pad as the card, K & Co. Classic; the flowers and pearls are from my stash and the sentiment was printed off the computer.

I'm going to enter the box and card into a few challenges, but separately.

I'm entering the card into these challenges:

- A Spoon Full of Sugar - Happy Birthday

- Oldie But A Goodie - The Great Outdoors

- Papertake Weekly Challenge - Bingo (Top Line - Blooms, Pearls and Doily)

I'm entering the box into just one challenge:

- Allsorts Challenge -Anything But A Card

Anyway, have a nice week and weekend and I will be back soon hopefully with some more cards before the end of the summer holidays!

Thank you for looking, bye for now!

Vintage Hanglar Card

Hello! It feels like ages since I've posted on my blog! We're all moved in now to our new house and we're settling in really well! I haven't really been in the crafting mood over the last couple of weeks, because I wanted to settle in and relax a bit first, plus my craft stuff is at the bottom of my wardrobe at the moment, so it's not very accessible. Eventually though, my dad is going to put some floating shelves up in my room, so I can store things on there and then move my craft stuff somewhere else.
When I made this card yesterday, I realised how much I'd missed card making!

I've made it to enter into a few different challenges and I used my mum's new Tim Holtz stamps, which I really like!
I also had a go at doing a sepia effect with my colouring again, and I'm pleased with how it came out, as it's something a bit different and makes a card look a bit more vintage.

Materials:
Image: Hanglar
'Love' Sentiment & Stamped Text: Tim Holtz
Doily: From My Stash
Papers: Prima - Annalee
Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils
Cardstock: Bazzil
Flowers: From My Stash
Newspaper-Style Flowers: Printed Off The Computer and Punched With Woodware Punch
Wooden Heart: From My Stash
Pearls: Martha Stewart
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy
Chandelier Branch: From My Stash

Over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week, the theme is to use newspaper on your card. I couldn't find a newspaper at our house, so I printed some newspaper text off the computer and punched flowers out of it, and then what did my mum bring back from the shop about five minutes later?...a newspaper! Typical! :)

I'm so glad it's the summer holidays now! So far, I've been chilling out a lot, plus I don't have much homework to do, which is nice! Today, we're all going to our local farm to get some gravel for our new back garden and me and my brother will probably feed the animals!

I'm entering my card into these challenges:

- Allsorts Challenge - Free 'n' Easy
- Colour Create - Cream, Aqua and Pale Pink
- Creative Card Crew - Animal Antics
- Papertake Weekly - Getting Cute
- Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Use Newspaper
- Stamp Something - Something Embellished
- Stampin' For The Weekend - Paws For Thought
- The Pink Elephant - Photo Inspiration

Anyway, I'd better go now. Thank you for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Fairy Tilda & Moving House

Hi everyone! This will be my last post for a little while, as we are moving house at the moment. We have found somewhere that is nearer to mine and my brother's school, and nearer to family and friends, so we can't wait to move in and are in the process of moving all the furniture over there at the moment. I thought I would post this card I made recently before my computer is moved to the new house, as we won't have internet for about a week at the most.

When I was colouring this image, I thought the colour I used for her hair was a rich brown, but it turned out to be a bit more red than I thought! Oh well, I suppose it contrasts better with the paper like this!

Materials:

Image: Magnolia

Papers: Basic Grey - Porcelain

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Sentiment: Hero Arts

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Flowers: From My Stash

Glitter: Stickles

Cardstock: Bazzil

Swirl Die: Borrowed From My Mum

Pearls: From My Stash

Glimmer Mist: Marshmellow

Grunge Stamp: Stempelglede

I am entering this card into these challenges:

- Our Creative Corner - Your Style

- Stampin' For The Weekend - My Favourite Things

Anyway, I'd better go and finish packing - my room is getting emptier and emptier by the minute! Thanks so much for looking and I'll be back soon hopefully when we've settled into the new house!

Crafty Calendar Challenge - First Birthday

Hi there! I think you'd better put your feet up, this is a bit of a long post! I hope everyone is having a great weekend and enjoying X Factor, ha ha! I can't believe how awful the weather's been though, but it was OK yesterday though, which was perfect timing for when me and my friend, Megan went to Alton Towers, we had an amazing time!

I made this card, as Lisa asked me to be a Guest Designer for the Crafty Calendar Challenge, which I first started with the wonderful team back in October 2009, but I decided to step down from running a couple of months ago, because it just became a bit too much to manage.
Because the challenge has now been running for twelve months, Lisa has managed to find twelve fantastic sponsors, so be sure to go and check them out!
The theme is 'Birthdays', with the optional extra of 'Autumn Colours', so here is the card I've made for the challenge.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: Basic Grey - Green At Heart
Flowers & Leaves: From My Stash
Colouring: Pro Markers
Glitter: Craft Planet
Raffia Lace: Bunny-Zoe's Crafts
Embellishments: From My Stash
Cardstock: Bazzil
I am entering the card into a few challenges too:
- Basic Grey Challenges - 'Sparkle'
- Just Magnolia Challenge - 'Anything Goes'

We had a brilliant time at Alton Towers, and managed to get on ten rides, and went on some twice! I think people must have been put off going because of the bad weather, as the longest we had to queue for a ride for is about forty minutes, which is nothing compared to how it normally is! We went of Oblivion, Air, Rita, Nemesis, The Blade, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Ride, Twirling Toadstool, Sonic Spinball, The Flume and Skyride, but we didn't dare go on Thirteen, ha ha! We also scoffed and had KFC for lunch and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream with hot chocolate sauce, YUM!
Nemesis, very scary!
Oblivion, my favourite!

Sonic Spinball

The Flume, we got absolutely drenched!

Anyway, I'd better go now, sorry for the long post! Thanks so much for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend and X Factor tonight, if you're watching!

Love, Georgia xx

Stamp Somethings Challenge

Hi everyone, happy Saturday! :)
I had a great time yesterday spending my birthday money and vouchers with my friend Megan. I bought loads of new clothes, hair things and DVDs and I'm so pleased with everything I got. We even managed to find time to treat ourselves to a tuna jacket potato and chocolate fudge cake, mmm!

This is the card I gave my mum for her birthday on Wednesday - she turned the big four-o and we're having a party tomorrow!
I am also entering this week's Stamp Something Challenge, where the theme is 'distressed somethings'.

Materials:
Image: Penny Black
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: MME
Colouring: Pro Markers
Glitter: Stickles
Flowers: From my Stash
Other Embellishments: From my Stash
Thanks for looking - I'm just in the middle of watching the original 1971 Willy Wonka film, you can't beat the classic, lol!
Bye for now!
Hugs, Georgia xx

Just Magnolia Challenge & More Snow!

Hi! I can't believe it, but we've had more snow! Just when I thought it was gone for the year, I woke up to a several inch covering of it everywhere, and it's still snowing now!

Anwyay, here is a card I made last night for this week's Just Magnolia Challenge, where the theme is to use hearts and flowers on your card. I used some K&Co. paper and cut a heart out of it with a Nestie shape and then embossed and sanded it.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiment: Studio G (I think!)
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Colouring: Pro Markers
Papers: K&Co.
Ribbon: From my stash
Flowers: Prima
Other Embellishments: From my stash

I can't believe I've had this lovely glitter ribbon for about two years now, and I've never used it until I made this card! I think I was a bit scared of wasting it, lol!

I very much doubt it, but you never know, there's a chance of the school being closed tomorrow, lol!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a nice week! If I don't make another card beforehand, I'll be back on Friday with my Crafty Calendar Challenge Design Team card - don't forget to tune in for Challenge 5! :)

Bye for now!
Love, Georgia xx

Creative Inspirations Challenge 35

Hello! Hope you've a had a great week and have a nice X Factor weekend, lol! I was absolutely livid at Simon last weekend. He's the one who's been saying how much he hates Jedward, so why on earth did he send home a brilliant singer like Lucie?! It was a total joke! I don't think I can bear to see them there taking the places of other better singers for much longer, lol!
OK, rant over, hee hee!

Sorry for the lack of posts over the last week. My homework has been catching up on me so I haven't got round to it.

I'm entering this card into this week's Creative Inspirations Challenge, where the theme is 'New or Neglected Stash'. I've used my new papers I got from Bunny-Zoe's Crafts, my new Tim Holtz tickets, and some new 'raffia' style ribbon from the lovely Heather.

The image is Magnolia, the colouring was done with Pro Markers. The backing paper is K & Co., the script paper is PaperMania, the leaf stamps are Studio G and the rest of the embellishments are from my stash.

OK, I'd better go now to get stuck into some of this homework.
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend. :)
Hugs, Georgia xx
