I'm Back!

Hi everyone - happy Saturday! It feels like ages since I've posted a card, because I was ill during the second half of half-term. It started when we got back from the cinema, not last Thursday but the Thursday before, when we went to see Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, which was fantastic, by the way! I'm feeling much better though now, and my mojo is coming back, slowly but surely. It's a shame that I still wasn't feeling great when I went to an Indian restaurant with some friends for my friend, Kat's birthday, as I had lost my appetite and didn't enjoy the food and hardly ate anything. But at least I'll be able to make up for that when I go out with my mum and dad and brother for another curry on my birthday - yay! :)

I don't mind this card that I've made, but I'm not massively keen on it. I'm entering it into this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge, where the theme is friendship.

Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: Making Memories
Flowers: From my Stash
Ribbon: PaperMania
Embellishments: From my Stash

I'm looking forward to the Saturday Night TV later, as Ant and Dec have got a new game show starting tonight, which should be good, and tomorrow I've got Dancing On Ice, yay!

Anwyay, thanks for looking - have a lovely weekend and thanks so much for any comments you leave! Bye for now!

Simon Says Challenge - Blog Hop!

Hello! Over at Simon Says Challenge, this week, to celebrate their newest DT members, there is a special blog hop and recipe challenge! To qualify for the grand prize, which is either a Sizzix Big Shot machine or a $50 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp (wow!), you have to enter the challenge and collect a mystery letter from each DT member's blog and unscramble them to make a word, how great is that?! :)

Here is my entry for the recipe challenge:
You have to use three types of embellishment (flowers, pearls and buttons), two papers and one image.

Materials:
Image: From a set my mum got me at the NEC, but I threw the packaging away so not sure what the make is.
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: MME
Flowers: Prima
Colouring: Pro Markers
Embellishments: From my Stash
Thanks for looking and best of luck with the blog hop if you're entering!
We're off to see Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief at the cinema now, so hopefully it'll be a good one! :)

Parties & A Couple of Challenges

Hi there! Woo hoo, it's half-term - yay! Funnily, nearly all of my friends' birthdays fall early in the year, so I've got a ton of parties at the moment! I had one on Wednesday, I've got one tonight, one next Saturday and then in March I've got mine, then in April I've got two more, phew! This card is one I've made for my friend Carina, whose party I'm going to tonight. I've bought her a peach-coloured sparkly scarf, some sweets and slipper socks, which I hope she'll like.

I'm entering this card into two challenges:

Stamp Something Challenge - Cute Somethings (rabbit image).
Allsorts Challenge - 3 of Something, 2 of Something, 1 of Something (Three flowers, two papers and one image).

Materials:
Image: Martha Stewart
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: Making Memories
Colouring: Pro Markers
Embellishments: From my stash

Right, I'd better go and have a shower and then get ready for the party. We'll be watching a film at her house and having a buffet, yum!

Thanks so much for looking and for any comments you leave.

Bold & Bright & A Lovely Award!

Hiya! Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend - I know I am! I had a lovely meal in McDonald's today and a McFlurry for afters, much to Mum's annoyance as she's dieting, lol!

I went bold and bright with my card today, which isn't something I do very often. Can you believe these gorgeous papers were from a big pad that came free with a magazine?! There are tons of beautiful designs in the pad and they're really good quality!

The image is by Sugar Nellie, one that I haven't used before.
I'm entering my card into two challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenges - Four-Legged And Furry (I used the bunny image)

Crafty Monkeys - Love or Friendship (I used the friendship sentiment)

Materials:
Image: Sugar Nellie
Sentiment: Studio G
Colouring: Pro Markers
Papers: Magazine Freebie
Flowers: Prima
Brads: From my stash
Pearls: From my stash

Just Magnolia Challenge & More Snow!

Hi! I can't believe it, but we've had more snow! Just when I thought it was gone for the year, I woke up to a several inch covering of it everywhere, and it's still snowing now!

Anwyay, here is a card I made last night for this week's Just Magnolia Challenge, where the theme is to use hearts and flowers on your card. I used some K&Co. paper and cut a heart out of it with a Nestie shape and then embossed and sanded it.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiment: Studio G (I think!)
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Colouring: Pro Markers
Papers: K&Co.
Ribbon: From my stash
Flowers: Prima
Other Embellishments: From my stash

I can't believe I've had this lovely glitter ribbon for about two years now, and I've never used it until I made this card! I think I was a bit scared of wasting it, lol!

I very much doubt it, but you never know, there's a chance of the school being closed tomorrow, lol!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a nice week! If I don't make another card beforehand, I'll be back on Friday with my Crafty Calendar Challenge Design Team card - don't forget to tune in for Challenge 5! :)

Bye for now!
Love, Georgia xx

Mojo Monday Challenge 123

Hi there! Sorry I haven't posted very much recently - I lost my mojo a bit and just didn't have the will to make a card, plus I had ridiculous amounts of homework on Monday and Tuesday, but I'm glad I got it out of the way rather than leaving it until last minute.

I made this card using one of the lovely sketches over at this week's Mojo Monday Challenge. I used this image as I though he was really cheerful and went well with the papers.

Materials:
Image: Alota
Sentiment: Studio G
Colouring: Pro Markers
Papers: K&Co.
Embellishments: From my stash

I had a 'wear something red' day today at school and everyone had to make a donation to the Haiti appeal. I wasn't going to be able to dress up, but thankfully I found a long-lost red top in my drawer and I'm glad I found it as I don't think I saw a single person in uniform!

Anyway, I'd better go now and have a nice soak in the bath, and then I'm going to get into my pyjamas early and chill while I've got no homework to do, yay! :)

Thanks for looking!
Love, Georgia xx

Georgia's Blogoversary Candy - Now Closed

****CANDY CLOSED - WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED ON SUNDAY****
This post will stay at the top of my blog until the candy winner is announced - please see underneath for more recent posts!
Hello! It is my first ever blogoversary today, so here I am with some celebratoty candy!
I can't believe it's been a whole year since I entered the world of blogging - I've learnt so much and made lots of lovely blogging friends, and I'd just like to say such a huge thank you for all the support I've received and encouraging comments, it means a lot!
The candy contains:
- A clear border and frame stamp set
- Some rub-on transfer lettering
- Some pink eyelets
- An embellishment trio set containing buttons, brads and flowers
To be in with a chance of winning, you don't need to become a follower, as I want to make it easy.
All I ask is that you leave a comment on this post and put a link to this candy on your blog.

The candy will close at 8:00pm on Saturday 23rd January and the winner will be announced on Sunday 24th January, so keep look out in case you are the lucky winner!

Thanks so much for entering and all the supportive comments, gifts, goodies and birthday cards I received over 2009. I have most definitely got the cardmaking bug now, and long may it continue!

Best of luck!

Fern's Birthday Card

Hello! Just a very quick post tonight to show you this card I made for my blogging friend, Fern, who turned twelve on Friday!

I cut the flowers out of paper from the same range as the backing paper.

I've decided to enter it into this week's Creative Inspirations Challenge - looks like I'm just in time! :) The theme over there is to use something new! I've used a new stamp from a set that I absolutely love that my mum treated me to when she went to the NEC last time. Thanks so much Mum, I love these stamps! I have also used some new papers, which my mum also bought me from the NEC - they're sooo pretty! :)

I can't remember who the image is by because I've thrown away the packet. The sentiment is made by the same company as the image. The colouring was done with Pro Markers, the papers are Dovecraft, as well as the flowers, the little flower centres, dew drops and glitter are from my stash.

Thanks for looking, and have a lovely week! Uh-oh, looks like there's more snow forecast on Wednesday - it's never-ending, lol! :D

Love, Georgia xx
P.S. Thanks for all the candy entries so far, good luck!
