Pink Lemonade Card

Hello! I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment with making cards! My mojo has definitely come back, so I'm grabbing the opportunity and making as many cards as I can, especially as I've got more time than I usually would, because it's the summer holidays.
First of all, thank you so much for the lovely comments you left on my last card, I really appreciate it! Also, thanks so much for the lovely comments you left on Kane's card as well, I read them all out to him and he was so pleased! I don't think he'll be taking up cardmaking as a regular thing though, too much like hard work, I'm guessing!

Anyway, at Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week, the theme is 'Feeling Fruity', so I used these lovely Basic Grey, Nook & Pantry papers and coloured the image so it looks like pink lemonade, and then printed out a matching sentiment off the computer.

I am also entering Kaboodle Doodles Challenge, as the theme over there is 'Add A Little Metal', and I have used a couple of metal spacers on my card.

Materials:
Image: Penny Black
Papers: Basic Grey - Nook & Pantry
Sentiment: Printed Off The Computer
Flowers: From My Stash
Leaf Punch: Woodware
Colouring: Pro Markers
Glossy Accents: Anita's
Stitching Stamp: Borrowed From My Mum
Pearls & Spacers: From My Stash
I also used glossy accents on the drink on the image, which I've never used before, but I'm really pleased with how it looks!
It is my great-grandma's 91st birthday in a few days, so I should be back soon, hopefully, with something I have made for her.
Thanks again for your lovely comments for me and Kane and thanks so much for looking, have a lovely week! :)
Love, Georgia xx

A Crafty Afternoon

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely weekend and enjoying the summer!
I've been having a nice crafty afternoon today with my ten year old brother, Kane. He's not usually a cardmaker, but he saw me with all my crafty stuff out, and decided to sit and make a card with me as a one-off.

This first card is my card, which I am entering into two challenges. There is a fabulous sketch over at Just Magnolia, which I have followed, so I am entering it into that. Also, the theme at Creative Card Crew is 'Let's Get Cute & Girlie', so I am entering it into that as well.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiments: K & Co.
Lettering: From My Stash
Papers: K & Co.
Cardstock: Bazzil
Flowers: From My Stash
Pearls & Brads: From My Stash
Beads: From My Stash
Felt Lace: PaperMania
Glitter: Stickles
Colouring: Pro Markers

I am really pleased with how this card turned out, even though it took me a bit longer than usual to make because I had to throw one image away because my Pro Markers bled into the card and spoilt it, but I managed OK with this one, luckily!

Now, onto Kane's card. I can't believe how well he's made this card, considering he's a boy and he's only ten years old!
He didn't fancy colouring an image, so he used one of my mum's pre-coloured Lili Of The Valley images, which is so sweet!

Materials:
Image: Lili Of The Valley
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: K & Co.
Ribbon: From My Stash
Buttons: From My Stash
Pearls: From My Mum's Stash
Orange Paper & Star: From My Stash
Well done Kane! :)
Thanks so much for looking and have a great week!
Love, Georgia & Kane xx

Sad News

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I last posted. I have some sad news, which is that I've decided to step down from running my challenge, the Crafty Calendar Challenge.

I'm really sad to leave the challenge, as I have really loved running it and it's been such a great experience having my own challenge blog, but blogging and crafting became too much like a chore, rather than a hobby, so I decided to give it up to take the pressure off a bit, especially as my school work will get more and more over the next couple of years at school.

On Friday, I posted my last challenge at the Crafty Calendar Challenge, and this is my Design Team card. I don't usually go for making male cards, but the theme is 'Around The World', so I thought this pirate Edwin image would be good to use for that particular theme. There is also a sketch, designed by Laura, to follow. Thanks for the fabulous sketch Laura!

Materials: Image: Magnolia

Sentiment: Tim Holtz

Papers: The Paper Loft

Grunge Stamp: Stempelglede

Cardstock: Bazzil

Flowers: From My Stash

Cord: From My Stash

Colouring: Pro Markers

Gems & Brads: From My Stash

I'm sitting at home watching Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone at the moment, which I love! I can't wait until the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out in November, so I'm having a marathon of reading the books again and watching the films again!

Anyway, I'd better go now, but good luck if you are entering this month's Crafty Calendar Challenge and thank you for everyone's support and stunning entries into the challenge since it began in October 2009!

Thanks for looking! Love, Georgia xx

Goodbye For Now!

Hi everyone! I'm so glad the weather has picked up a bit! It's perfect timing really, because there is supposed to be a heatwave in the UK over the weekend, and this will be my last post before I go on holiday!

We are going to Harlech in Wales, so this will be my last post before we get back - hopefully I'll have some pictures to show you when we come home!
Here is the beach, nearby to my auntie and uncle's holiday home, where we will be staying - we are just on the right of the beach, how convenient is that? :)

Also, we are right next to Harlech Castle, which King Edward I started building in 1283! Here is a lovely picture of it during sunset.

Anyway, onto my card! I have made this card using one of the gorgeous Tilda images my mum stamped out for me, from her new Magnolia kit. I made it following Bev's fabulous sketch, over at Just Magnolia, which I will be entering it into.

I also used Rach's great tutorial for making flowers using Retro punches, which I love! You can find the tutorial here, or on my sidebar. Thanks for the inspiration Rach! :)

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiment: Tim Holtz
Papers: Paper Mania
Colouring: Pro Markers
Cardstock: Bazzil
Gems, Buttons & Pearls: From My Stash
Border Punch: Martha Stewart
Glitter: From My Stash

I just can't get enough of these Tim Holtz tickets that I have been using so much recently, I love them! :)

I had a bit of an accident when I was making this card! I coloured my image and added a few silver gems for extra sparkle and then I put the image through a cutting machine with a Nestie shape and because of the pressure from the machine, the gems cracked! If you click on the picture, you'll be able to see, hee hee! Oops! :)

Anyway, I'd better get going now, as there's lots of packing to be done before we leave to go to Wales! I really hope the weather will be good while we're away!

Good luck for those of you who are entering my blog candy, I will be drawing the winner on Monday 2nd August 2010!

Before I go, I thought I'd show you this picture of my cat, Fizzy, soaking up the sun in our garden a couple of weeks ago, such a diva, hee hee! :)

Thanks so much for looking and have a great week!

Summer Days

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a lovely weekend and enjoying the summer!
I've been really crafty this weekend - my mojo was gone, but I've really been in the mood for making cards this weekend, so I made this card to show you now, and my Crafty Calendar Challenge Design Team card for next month, which I will show you when the new challenge is posted on Friday 6th August!

I made this card for Nikki's fabulous new challenge, Bunny-Zoe's Crafts! There are two amazing prizes up for grabs, as well as a Guest Designer spot, so head on over there by clicking the link above if you want to enter this month's challenge for the chance to win the fantastic prizes!
The theme over there this month is 'Summer Days', so I thought this little Hula Girl Anya image would be perfect. I also found these gorgeous papers in my paper box, so couldn't wait to use them, although I'm not sure where they are from or who they are by.

Not much can be said for our summer in the UK - it's cloudy and wet outside, as I'm typing, but at least it will be good for the gardens and all the scorched grass from the sunny weather we had a couple of weeks ago.

Materials:
Image: Anya
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: Unsure
Raffia Lace: From My Stash
Ribbon: From Chris
Colouring: Pro Markers
Flowers: From My Stash
Silver Brads: Gem Styler
Pink Brad: From My Stash
Pins: From My Stash

I'm having a relaxing afternoon at home today, seeing as it's the summer holidays now, woo hoo! I'm just off to make a yummy lunch and then me and my mum and my brother are going to put a film on in the lounge! :)

Thanks so much for looking and have a great weekend!

Card For British Troops

Hello! Just a quick post tonight to show you this card I made for an appeal for my local British army regiment, where the radio station, Signal One, are asking that people fill a jiffy bag with little luxuries that the troops really miss out on when they are away fighting, such as books and magazines and toiletries, and you can put a card in it if you want to as well, so me and my mum are both making up our own jiffy bags of stuff to send out to the British troops.

Materials:
Image: Alota
Sentiment: From My Stash
Papers: K & Co. - Hopskotch
Colouring: Pro Markers
Ribbon: From My Stash
Cardstock: Bazzil
Iced Gems: From My Stash

OK, well I'd better go then - it's just a very quick post tonight, as it's late and I want to go to bed, but I just thought I'd post this and maybe I can do a blog hop tomorrow!

I've only got tomorrow and then I break up from school for the summer, woo hoo! :)

Thanks so much for looking and have a lovely week!

Quixotic Challenge Card

Hi there! I hope you are all having a lovely week and are looking forward to the weekend! I am going to be off school tomorrow, because all of year nine have 'Go To Work Day', where we have to go to work with one of our parents or someone we know, so I'll be going to work with my mum!

My mojo has come back a little and I decided to make this card for this week's Quixotic Challenge, where the theme is 'Pretty Pearls'.

Materials:
Image: The Greetings Farm
Sentiment: My Mind's Eye
Papers: My Mind's Eye
Ribbon: From My Stash
Flowers & Dots: My Mind's Eye
Pearls: From My Stash
Colouring: Pro Markers
Punch: Martha Stewart
Cardstock: Bazzil
Can you believe these papers were from a paper pad that came free with this month's 'Cardmaking and Papercraft' magazine?! What a great prize, and such good quality pretty papers too! I can't wait to have another go with them to make some more girly cards, tee hee! :)
Thanks so much for looking and bye for now!

Summer

Hi there! I'm sorry I've been away for so long, but at the moment, I'm struggling to find time to craft because I have exams and coursework to do for school at the moment, as I am doing my GCSEs.

This is my Design Team project for the Crafty Calendar Challenge. My friend, Megan's birthday is coming up in the middle of July, so I painted and decorated this little box I found in my art things and I've bought a little silver and purple charm bracelet to go inside it as a present, which I picked because she loves purple! :)

The theme at the Crafty Calendar Challenge this month is 'Summer', so I used this sweet little Anya image and bright colours to give it a summery feel, especially because Megan's birthday is in the height of summer.

Materials:
Image: The Greetings Farm
Paper: Basic Grey - Nook and Pantry
Flowers: From My Stash
Colouring: Pro Markers
Brad: From My Stash
Gem: From My Stash
Ribbon: From My Stash
Glitter Letter Stickers: From The NEC
I've hardly got any time left now at school before the summer holidays! I'm also looking forward to Thursday 8th July, as I have a kind of work experience day with school, so I will be going to work with my mum for the day! :)
Anyway, thanks so much for looking and have a lovely weekend, let's hope the hot weather carries on!
Love from, Georgia xx
