Goodbye For Now!

Hi everyone! I'm so glad the weather has picked up a bit! It's perfect timing really, because there is supposed to be a heatwave in the UK over the weekend, and this will be my last post before I go on holiday!

We are going to Harlech in Wales, so this will be my last post before we get back - hopefully I'll have some pictures to show you when we come home!
Here is the beach, nearby to my auntie and uncle's holiday home, where we will be staying - we are just on the right of the beach, how convenient is that? :)

Also, we are right next to Harlech Castle, which King Edward I started building in 1283! Here is a lovely picture of it during sunset.

Anyway, onto my card! I have made this card using one of the gorgeous Tilda images my mum stamped out for me, from her new Magnolia kit. I made it following Bev's fabulous sketch, over at Just Magnolia, which I will be entering it into.

I also used Rach's great tutorial for making flowers using Retro punches, which I love! You can find the tutorial here, or on my sidebar. Thanks for the inspiration Rach! :)

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiment: Tim Holtz
Papers: Paper Mania
Colouring: Pro Markers
Cardstock: Bazzil
Gems, Buttons & Pearls: From My Stash
Border Punch: Martha Stewart
Glitter: From My Stash

I just can't get enough of these Tim Holtz tickets that I have been using so much recently, I love them! :)

I had a bit of an accident when I was making this card! I coloured my image and added a few silver gems for extra sparkle and then I put the image through a cutting machine with a Nestie shape and because of the pressure from the machine, the gems cracked! If you click on the picture, you'll be able to see, hee hee! Oops! :)

Anyway, I'd better get going now, as there's lots of packing to be done before we leave to go to Wales! I really hope the weather will be good while we're away!

Good luck for those of you who are entering my blog candy, I will be drawing the winner on Monday 2nd August 2010!

Before I go, I thought I'd show you this picture of my cat, Fizzy, soaking up the sun in our garden a couple of weeks ago, such a diva, hee hee! :)

Thanks so much for looking and have a great week!

Summer Days

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a lovely weekend and enjoying the summer!
I've been really crafty this weekend - my mojo was gone, but I've really been in the mood for making cards this weekend, so I made this card to show you now, and my Crafty Calendar Challenge Design Team card for next month, which I will show you when the new challenge is posted on Friday 6th August!

I made this card for Nikki's fabulous new challenge, Bunny-Zoe's Crafts! There are two amazing prizes up for grabs, as well as a Guest Designer spot, so head on over there by clicking the link above if you want to enter this month's challenge for the chance to win the fantastic prizes!
The theme over there this month is 'Summer Days', so I thought this little Hula Girl Anya image would be perfect. I also found these gorgeous papers in my paper box, so couldn't wait to use them, although I'm not sure where they are from or who they are by.

Not much can be said for our summer in the UK - it's cloudy and wet outside, as I'm typing, but at least it will be good for the gardens and all the scorched grass from the sunny weather we had a couple of weeks ago.

Materials:

Papers: Unsure
Raffia Lace: From My Stash
Ribbon: From Chris
Colouring: Pro Markers
Flowers: From My Stash

I'm having a relaxing afternoon at home today, seeing as it's the summer holidays now, woo hoo! I'm just off to make a yummy lunch and then me and my mum and my brother are going to put a film on in the lounge! :)

Thanks so much for looking and have a great weekend!

Card For British Troops

Hello! Just a quick post tonight to show you this card I made for an appeal for my local British army regiment, where the radio station, Signal One, are asking that people fill a jiffy bag with little luxuries that the troops really miss out on when they are away fighting, such as books and magazines and toiletries, and you can put a card in it if you want to as well, so me and my mum are both making up our own jiffy bags of stuff to send out to the British troops.

Materials:

Sentiment: From My Stash
Papers: K & Co. - Hopskotch
Colouring: Pro Markers
Ribbon: From My Stash
Cardstock: Bazzil
Iced Gems: From My Stash

OK, well I'd better go then - it's just a very quick post tonight, as it's late and I want to go to bed, but I just thought I'd post this and maybe I can do a blog hop tomorrow!

I've only got tomorrow and then I break up from school for the summer, woo hoo! :)

Thanks so much for looking and have a lovely week!

Quixotic Challenge Card

Hi there! I hope you are all having a lovely week and are looking forward to the weekend! I am going to be off school tomorrow, because all of year nine have 'Go To Work Day', where we have to go to work with one of our parents or someone we know, so I'll be going to work with my mum!

My mojo has come back a little and I decided to make this card for this week's Quixotic Challenge, where the theme is 'Pretty Pearls'.

Can you believe these papers were from a paper pad that came free with this month's 'Cardmaking and Papercraft' magazine?! What a great prize, and such good quality pretty papers too! I can't wait to have another go with them to make some more girly cards, tee hee! :)
Thanks so much for looking and bye for now!

Summer

Hi there! I'm sorry I've been away for so long, but at the moment, I'm struggling to find time to craft because I have exams and coursework to do for school at the moment, as I am doing my GCSEs.

This is my Design Team project for the Crafty Calendar Challenge. My friend, Megan's birthday is coming up in the middle of July, so I painted and decorated this little box I found in my art things and I've bought a little silver and purple charm bracelet to go inside it as a present, which I picked because she loves purple! :)

The theme at the Crafty Calendar Challenge this month is 'Summer', so I used this sweet little Anya image and bright colours to give it a summery feel, especially because Megan's birthday is in the height of summer.

Materials:
Image: The Greetings Farm
Paper: Basic Grey - Nook and Pantry
Flowers: From My Stash
Colouring: Pro Markers
Brad: From My Stash
Gem: From My Stash
Ribbon: From My Stash
Glitter Letter Stickers: From The NEC
I've hardly got any time left now at school before the summer holidays! I'm also looking forward to Thursday 8th July, as I have a kind of work experience day with school, so I will be going to work with my mum for the day! :)
Anyway, thanks so much for looking and have a lovely weekend, let's hope the hot weather carries on!

Magnolia Card & Concert Pictures!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to show you this card I am entering into Just Magnolia, where the theme is 'In The Garden'. I used my mum's Martha Stewart fence punch, to make it look like Tilda was in the garden. I've also had a go at masking my image, which I've never tried before. It was a bit tricky and took me a few attempts, and even now it's a bit smudged, but I got there in the end! :)

Sentiment: Magnolia
Papers: PaperMania
Colouring: ProMarkers
Flowers: From My Stash
Ribbon: From My Stash
Cardstock: Bazzil

Gems: From My Stash

Here is a closer view.

Also, for those of you who had a go at guessing which of my statements was true in my last post, it was number six, I have held snakes, lizards and a crocodile in the past - but it was only a baby one and it had its mouth taped up, ha ha! :)

Before I go, I want to show you a few of the pictures I took on Saturday, when I went to Signal One 2010 Live at my local park with my friends. It was absolutely fantastic and we had such a brilliant time!

Here is a horrible spinning ride that my friends went on, but I didn't dare!

Here are two of the radio DJs presenting it, blowing those vuvuzelas they have at the World Cup!

Anyway, I'd better go - thanks so much for looking and have a lovely week!
Hopefully, England will win their match on Wednesday, or they'll be out of the World Cup!
Bye for now,

An Award

Hi everyone! Just a quick post tonight to share this award I received with you that was given to me by Rachel, thanks so much for the award Rachel!

For the award, I have to tell you one truth and six lies about me, and you have to try and guess which one is the truth, which I will reveal in my next post!

OK, here goes...

1. I have had five cats in total throughout my life.

2. I have a brother and three sisters.

3. I have been away on holiday to Greece for two months before.

4. My favourite drink is Coca Cola.

5. My dream job is a crocodile hunter.

6. I have held snakes, lizards and a crocodile before.

7. I absolutely hate going clothes shopping.

I also have to pass this award onto seven people. I will pass it onto:

Tara - Happily Ever Crafting

Sophie - Sophie's Doodles

Fiona - Made In A Muddle

Donna - Donna's Doodles

Kim - Cards By Kim

So, all you need to do is leave a comment telling me which one out of all seven statements is true. I'll let you know the answer the next time I post, good luck, hee hee! :)

Thanks again for the award Rachel! OK, better go now. I'm really looking forward to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week, as it is PINC Week (Particp8, Innov8, Negoti8, Cooper8), where we have three days off timetable and get to go out and take part in loads of great activities!

Tomorrow, I'll be going to Aerial Extreme, and assault course in the trees, which sounds brilliant - it's just as well I don't mind heights! :)

Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of your week!

Phew...All Fixed!

Hi there! I'm really glad because my computer has been fixed and it turned out to be something really small, which is good, because I was assuming it was going to cost a lot to put it right, but it's all sorted now! :)

I had a really crafty day yesterday and made a Father's Day card for my dad and this card with one of my mum's new Anya stamps.

I'm entering it into this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge, where the theme is 'Dazzle Us', so you have to use glitter or gems or anything sparkly really.

Papers: The Paper Loft
Colouring: Pro Markers
Flowes: From My Stash

So much for the England victory last night against the USA! Oh well, at least they didn't lose, lol!
Thanks so much for looking and I'm off now for a blog hop to catch up on everyone's creations!
Have a lovely week!

Computer Trouble

Hello everyone!

Just a quick post to say that I might not be around for a little while, because there's something really wrong with my computer and I don't know how long it will be until it's fixed, so I'm typing this post on my dad's laptop.

Hopefully, it won't be for very long, but I just thought I'd let you know, as I don't have any idea what's wrong with my computer and I'm not sure how long it will take to get it sorted, but if I don't get much homework this week at school, then I should have plenty of time to get crafty and then I'll have lots to show when I get back! :)

I'm so glad Spelbound won Britain's Got Talent last night, they were amazing!
Anyway, I'd better go now and get things ready for school tomorrow morning - I can't wait to get up at seven o'clock...not! :)

Thanks for looking and bye for now!

My First Easel Card!

Hi there! Wow, I can't believe how nice the weather has been recently, perfect for half-term! Although, I wasn't so thrilled to be woken up by builders hammering and drilling on a house across the road from me at eight o'clock this morning! ;)

Today is the start of Challenge 9 of the Crafty Calendar Challenge, and the theme this month is 'Bugs and Beasties'. It sounds really tricky, but the possibilities are endless - you could make a pretty girly card or an insect card for a male.

I can't believe I've never tried it before, but this is my first easel card that I have made for my Design Team card. I always imagined it being really tricky to do, but I was surprised when I realised they're actually really simple and I love the effect it makes!

Materials:
Image: I can never remember what brand they are, even though I've been told so many times! :)
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: Basic Grey - Green At Heart
Flowers: From My Stash
Jute Ribbon: Bunny-Zoe's Crafts
Colouring: Pro Markers
Embellishments: From My Stash
Glitter: Stickles

Well, thanks so much for looking and enjoy the rest of the week and the weekend. Enjoy the rest of Britain's Got Talent, if you're watching it - so far, Spellbound are my favourites! :)
