Just Magnolia Challenge & More Snow!

Hi! I can't believe it, but we've had more snow! Just when I thought it was gone for the year, I woke up to a several inch covering of it everywhere, and it's still snowing now!

Anwyay, here is a card I made last night for this week's Just Magnolia Challenge, where the theme is to use hearts and flowers on your card. I used some K&Co. paper and cut a heart out of it with a Nestie shape and then embossed and sanded it.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiment: Studio G (I think!)
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Colouring: Pro Markers
Papers: K&Co.
Ribbon: From my stash
Flowers: Prima
Other Embellishments: From my stash

I can't believe I've had this lovely glitter ribbon for about two years now, and I've never used it until I made this card! I think I was a bit scared of wasting it, lol!

I very much doubt it, but you never know, there's a chance of the school being closed tomorrow, lol!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a nice week! If I don't make another card beforehand, I'll be back on Friday with my Crafty Calendar Challenge Design Team card - don't forget to tune in for Challenge 5! :)

Bye for now!
Love, Georgia xx

Mojo Monday Challenge 123

Hi there! Sorry I haven't posted very much recently - I lost my mojo a bit and just didn't have the will to make a card, plus I had ridiculous amounts of homework on Monday and Tuesday, but I'm glad I got it out of the way rather than leaving it until last minute.

I made this card using one of the lovely sketches over at this week's Mojo Monday Challenge. I used this image as I though he was really cheerful and went well with the papers.

Materials:
Image: Alota
Sentiment: Studio G
Colouring: Pro Markers
Papers: K&Co.
Embellishments: From my stash

I had a 'wear something red' day today at school and everyone had to make a donation to the Haiti appeal. I wasn't going to be able to dress up, but thankfully I found a long-lost red top in my drawer and I'm glad I found it as I don't think I saw a single person in uniform!

Anyway, I'd better go now and have a nice soak in the bath, and then I'm going to get into my pyjamas early and chill while I've got no homework to do, yay! :)

Thanks for looking!

Georgia's Blogoversary Candy - Now Closed

****CANDY CLOSED - WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED ON SUNDAY****
This post will stay at the top of my blog until the candy winner is announced - please see underneath for more recent posts!
Hello! It is my first ever blogoversary today, so here I am with some celebratoty candy!
I can't believe it's been a whole year since I entered the world of blogging - I've learnt so much and made lots of lovely blogging friends, and I'd just like to say such a huge thank you for all the support I've received and encouraging comments, it means a lot!
The candy contains:
- A clear border and frame stamp set
- Some rub-on transfer lettering
- Some pink eyelets
- An embellishment trio set containing buttons, brads and flowers
To be in with a chance of winning, you don't need to become a follower, as I want to make it easy.
All I ask is that you leave a comment on this post and put a link to this candy on your blog.

The candy will close at 8:00pm on Saturday 23rd January and the winner will be announced on Sunday 24th January, so keep look out in case you are the lucky winner!

Thanks so much for entering and all the supportive comments, gifts, goodies and birthday cards I received over 2009. I have most definitely got the cardmaking bug now, and long may it continue!

Best of luck!

Fern's Birthday Card

Hello! Just a very quick post tonight to show you this card I made for my blogging friend, Fern, who turned twelve on Friday!

I cut the flowers out of paper from the same range as the backing paper.

I've decided to enter it into this week's Creative Inspirations Challenge - looks like I'm just in time! :) The theme over there is to use something new! I've used a new stamp from a set that I absolutely love that my mum treated me to when she went to the NEC last time. Thanks so much Mum, I love these stamps! I have also used some new papers, which my mum also bought me from the NEC - they're sooo pretty! :)

I can't remember who the image is by because I've thrown away the packet. The sentiment is made by the same company as the image. The colouring was done with Pro Markers, the papers are Dovecraft, as well as the flowers, the little flower centres, dew drops and glitter are from my stash.

Thanks for looking, and have a lovely week! Uh-oh, looks like there's more snow forecast on Wednesday - it's never-ending, lol! :D

Love, Georgia xx
P.S. Thanks for all the candy entries so far, good luck!

Boy's Birthday Card

Hello everyone! Sorry for my lack of posting within the last week. Looks like the snow is starting to clear a little now, although it's in that horrible stage where it's partly melted and it's gone all slushy and brown! Yuck! I've had great fun in it, but at least it'll be safer on the roads soon.
I decided to make a boy's birthday card, as I saw this cute image is my image box, and male cards aren't something I do a lot of. I was downstairs when I found my mum's Dymo machine, and I thought it would be nice to personalise the card in some way, by putting a name on it, but for who? My brother's birthday isn't until June, but I thought I might as well get it done early!
I'm entering it into this week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge, where the theme is: 'All New!', where you can enter your card if you've used something new on it. I've used new papers.

Materials:
Image: Alota
Sentiment: Alota
Name: Dymo Machine
Eyelets: PaperMania
Colouring: Pro Markers
Backing Paper: K&Co.
Embellishments: From my stash

Thanks so much for looking and enjoy the rest of your week! :)

Snowed In!

Hi there! I don't know about you, but here is Staffordshire, the ground is covered with several inches of snow, and it looks like a blizzard outside! The snow is falling thick and fast, and me and my mum and my brother are at home because mine and my brother's schools are closed, woo hoo!
They're saying it's the coldest British winter in a century, and I'm not surprised, to be honest. It has been absolutely bitter of the last couple of weeks!
Here is just a very quick, basic card I made, with one of these lovely round, scalloped cards that Chris sent me.
Materials:
Image: Penny Black
Sentiment: Studio G
Flowers: Prima
Backing Paper: Dovecraft
Colouring Medium: Pro Markers
Other Embellishments: From my Stash
I am going to enter it into this week's A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge, where the challenge is to use hearts on your card. I didn't plan for this to be entered into any challenge when I made it, but how lucky is that that I found a challenge asking for hearts, lol!
Finally, here is my view from my bedroom window this morning. The amount has definitely doubled since I took this picture about an hour ago, and the snow is still coming!

A beautiful snowy tree in my garden.

Thanks for looking and I hope the snow doesn't affect people too badly, although no complaints about getting a day off school! ;)

Crafty Calendar Challenge Design Team Card - Challenge 4

Hi everyone and Hapy New Year! I can't believe we've left the Noughties now, I felt so nostalgic watching the look-back at the past decade from 2000 to 2009, especially on things like the 9/11 and the London bombings and Obama becoming president.

Anyway, here's my Design Team card for Challenge 4 of the Crafty Calendar Challenge.

The theme for this month is 'Keeping Warm' with the optional extra of texture. I have added texture with the raffia underneath the flowers and I have added warmth with the warmish colours and cookie image!

The image is Whiff Of Joy, the colouring was done with Pro Markers, the flowers are Prima, the sentiment is Studio G (I think!), the papers are K&Co. and the rest of the embellishments are from my stash.

Thanks for looking and all the best for 2010!
Love from, Georgia xx
