Anniversary Card

Hi everyone! Today I've got my mum and dad's anniversary card to show you, as their anniversary is coming up on Friday.
I went for a more simple card than I usually would, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

I am entering it into this week's Just Magnolia Challenge, where the theme is 'Let's Get Sentimental', so to qualify for the challenge, you must use a sentiment on your card. I tried to make a bit of a feature of the 'LOVE' lettering, so hopefully my card qualifies as 'sentimental'! :)

I am also entering it into this week's Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge, where the theme is turquoise and brown.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Papers: My Mind's Eye
Punch: Martha Stewart
Colouring: Pro Markers
Flower: Handmade Using Retro Punches (See Tutorial On Sidebar)
Swirl Punch: Woodware
Lettering: I Can't Remember
Happiness Stamp: Hero Arts
Gems: From My Stash
Glitter: Stickles

I can't wait until The X Factor starts again tonight, and the final of Big Brother is on Tuesday as well, so there's lots of good TV at the moment! :)

Thank you for looking and keep an eye on my mum for me to make sure she doesn't peek at this blog! :)

Altered Address Book

Hello everyone! Wow, I can't believe I'm posting twice in two days! I've definitely got the cardmaking bug and I've been grabbing every opportunity to make cards!
Today, I've got an address book I've altered to show you. I've made it for my great-grandma, who will be turning 91 on Saturday!

I just bought a little address book from one of my local shops yesterday, I think it only cost me 49p! I covered it in paper on both sides and coloured this cute Tilda to stick on top, with a couple of flowers - nothing over the top, but I thought she might like it to keep her addresses and phone numbers in.
You can't really tell from the picture, but I sprayed it all over with glimmer mist too.

Over at Simon Says Challenge this week, the theme is 'Make A Gift', so I am entering it into that. There are some stunning Design Team projects over there as well, so they're defnitely worth a look! :)
I am also entering the address book into Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, where the theme is 'What Are Little Girls Made Of?', so they are looking for girly projects.
I also made my mum and dad's anniversary card yesterday, so I will be posting that soon! :)
Thanks so much for looking and for the lovely comments you left on my 'pink lemonade' card, I really appreciate it! :)

Pink Lemonade Card

Hello! I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment with making cards! My mojo has definitely come back, so I'm grabbing the opportunity and making as many cards as I can, especially as I've got more time than I usually would, because it's the summer holidays.
First of all, thank you so much for the lovely comments you left on my last card, I really appreciate it! Also, thanks so much for the lovely comments you left on Kane's card as well, I read them all out to him and he was so pleased! I don't think he'll be taking up cardmaking as a regular thing though, too much like hard work, I'm guessing!

Anyway, at Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week, the theme is 'Feeling Fruity', so I used these lovely Basic Grey, Nook & Pantry papers and coloured the image so it looks like pink lemonade, and then printed out a matching sentiment off the computer.

I am also entering Kaboodle Doodles Challenge, as the theme over there is 'Add A Little Metal', and I have used a couple of metal spacers on my card.

Materials:
Image: Penny Black
Papers: Basic Grey - Nook & Pantry
Sentiment: Printed Off The Computer
Flowers: From My Stash
Leaf Punch: Woodware
Colouring: Pro Markers
Glossy Accents: Anita's
Stitching Stamp: Borrowed From My Mum
Pearls & Spacers: From My Stash
I also used glossy accents on the drink on the image, which I've never used before, but I'm really pleased with how it looks!
It is my great-grandma's 91st birthday in a few days, so I should be back soon, hopefully, with something I have made for her.
Thanks again for your lovely comments for me and Kane and thanks so much for looking, have a lovely week! :)

A Crafty Afternoon

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely weekend and enjoying the summer!
I've been having a nice crafty afternoon today with my ten year old brother, Kane. He's not usually a cardmaker, but he saw me with all my crafty stuff out, and decided to sit and make a card with me as a one-off.

This first card is my card, which I am entering into two challenges. There is a fabulous sketch over at Just Magnolia, which I have followed, so I am entering it into that. Also, the theme at Creative Card Crew is 'Let's Get Cute & Girlie', so I am entering it into that as well.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiments: K & Co.
Lettering: From My Stash
Papers: K & Co.
Cardstock: Bazzil
Flowers: From My Stash
Pearls & Brads: From My Stash
Beads: From My Stash
Felt Lace: PaperMania
Glitter: Stickles
Colouring: Pro Markers

I am really pleased with how this card turned out, even though it took me a bit longer than usual to make because I had to throw one image away because my Pro Markers bled into the card and spoilt it, but I managed OK with this one, luckily!

Now, onto Kane's card. I can't believe how well he's made this card, considering he's a boy and he's only ten years old!
He didn't fancy colouring an image, so he used one of my mum's pre-coloured Lili Of The Valley images, which is so sweet!

Materials:
Image: Lili Of The Valley
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: K & Co.
Ribbon: From My Stash
Buttons: From My Stash
Pearls: From My Mum's Stash
Orange Paper & Star: From My Stash
Well done Kane! :)
Thanks so much for looking and have a great week!
Love, Georgia & Kane xx

Sad News

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I last posted. I have some sad news, which is that I've decided to step down from running my challenge, the Crafty Calendar Challenge.

I'm really sad to leave the challenge, as I have really loved running it and it's been such a great experience having my own challenge blog, but blogging and crafting became too much like a chore, rather than a hobby, so I decided to give it up to take the pressure off a bit, especially as my school work will get more and more over the next couple of years at school.

On Friday, I posted my last challenge at the Crafty Calendar Challenge, and this is my Design Team card. I don't usually go for making male cards, but the theme is 'Around The World', so I thought this pirate Edwin image would be good to use for that particular theme. There is also a sketch, designed by Laura, to follow. Thanks for the fabulous sketch Laura!

Materials: Image: Magnolia

Sentiment: Tim Holtz

Papers: The Paper Loft

Grunge Stamp: Stempelglede

Cardstock: Bazzil

Flowers: From My Stash

Cord: From My Stash

Colouring: Pro Markers

Gems & Brads: From My Stash

I'm sitting at home watching Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone at the moment, which I love! I can't wait until the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out in November, so I'm having a marathon of reading the books again and watching the films again!

Anyway, I'd better go now, but good luck if you are entering this month's Crafty Calendar Challenge and thank you for everyone's support and stunning entries into the challenge since it began in October 2009!

Thanks for looking! Love, Georgia xx
